Should we consider trading Bailey Banfield for all of Richmond's first rounders?

Nah we would be getting ripped off.

Think you might have your blue and white glasses on with Urqhart. Good size inside mid but with a very average kick, and I think I'm being kind.
Agreed that his kicking has been average this year but let's bear in mind that he did have a significant whole of leg injury (it included four pins being placed in his hip); that may have had a big impact on the mechanics and confidence with his kicking this year. I have heard a few people argue that given time he can probably get the mechanics right; he certainly has the determination and drive needed as well.

From memory he does one a week out roughly, and then an update morning of the draft or the night before.

I seem to remember his actual phantom draft being out Monday the week of the draft at best tbh.

Think he’ll do his rankings this week still but if he ranks a ruck, KPF and KPD at 17, that’s his ranking not who he predicts Freo to select. Won’t stop people complaining and saying he has idea about our list though.

More we read news we are getting a feeling it will be 1 out of Berry or Hotton for us. Both are loyal Carlton fans.Comperole twins and Travaglia also Carlton fans. Quite a few there for them.

What's the difference between a "loyal Carlton fan" vs a "Carlton fan"? The level of emotional damage? IQ? Brainwashing? Delusion?

I think we're in a good spot this draft for where our list is at. There is fair chance the best available player at our pick is going to be a flanker or a mid whose game as a flanker is demonstrated.

My observation is that for top 20 picks there seems to be a lower bust rate for players picked at flankers? Most of the busts in the first round seem to be mids and key backs. (Key forwards sometime you can get under value for the pick but not so much actual busts). Fair?
Conversely most of the absolute star half / pocket forwards / backs are distributed randomly over the draft, whereas almost all star mids and keys are high picks.

Good post. You know a stat circulating with each pick and respective games played and pick 6 being terrible. I think we need to check all picks using your method and there could be a logic like this?

Here we insert the Josh Treacy exception clause.

High draft pick, sure. In the ****ing rookie draft.

Little bit confused what's going on with the Irish guys tbh. Seems like we're listing one do them and we don't need to officially announced it until after the draft but surely the decision is made - what's the hold up?
We need to be sure.

AFL.com.au had a draft misses article out recently and named the following:

KPD: Fisher McAsey, Aaron Francis, Will Kelly, Griffin Logue, Jack Scrimshaw, Denver Grainger-Barras, Sam Durdin, Kieran Collins (8)

KPF: Josh Schache, Paddy McCartin, Sam Weideman, Jarrad Brander (4)

I’m not really sure what Jarrod Brander was and Scrimshaw has played a few positions but seems to be a 194 3rd tall defender. Either way 12/18 clubs misses were key talls.

Herald Sun Q&A said Jaxon Artemis has been linked to us as a later pick. Another rebounding defender with good foot skills

Trying to compile players who have actually been linked with interest from us and not just personal mock drafts with no information.

Pick 14:
Travaglia
Lindsay
Allan
Berry
Shanahan

Pick 30:
Oliver
Clarke
Davis

Pick 67:
Carr (F/S)
Artemis

Who am I missing?

interestingly in the Griffin draft of 2016 we took Cox at 41, Darcy at 38, Ryan at 66, and Stewart went at 40, English at 19, Larkey at 73, Ratugolea at 43, Battle at 39, and Lewis at 76.

It wasn't particularly a weak draft, just that the recruiters didn't do a great job of working out who would be the best players. Even Bolton went 29, and Rioli 52.

Just another example of why when people say a certain pick is too high for a player it makes no sense.
