1 Why on % and not on finishing position?
Hmm i wonder how easiest to hardest changes if we use average finishing position for everyone like you have for us above. It's weird to use percentage rather than finishing position. Percentage makes the Dogs a much harder opponent than GWS for example which is nonsense.
If you randomly selected opponents for us the average finishing position from last year would be 9.82. The actual average finishing position last year of our double ups is 8.33.
So our double ups finished 1.5 places higher than you would get by random chance. It's clearly a tougher than average draw.
1. It is to remove the luck factor involved with close wins and close losses. I agree with the approach.1 Why on % and not on finishing position?
2 how the **** does Carlton have such an easy draw
Why is it weird? Percentage is a much better representation of how a team is going. It's weird to use percentage rather than finishing position. Percentage makes the Dogs a much harder opponent than GWS for example which is nonsense.

It’s not even an advantage the soft kills at the end.
Eagles 100 up at HT, bye, port (massive win) another bye.
That’s not ideal.
What a weird post.I've seen first hand that it does have an impact. In my situation, my eldest was very keen on footy and was always desperate to watch it and kick the footy outside etc. He got upset whenever a night game was on because knew he wouldn't be able to watch a whole game (none of the game if it is a Thursday night school night). The first killer was the night grand final in 2020, he just couldn't stay awake. He has ended up playing basketball and it is by far his favourite sport now purely because he has developed a what's the point attitude towards footy and all the scheduling in horrible timeslots for kids. Put a footy and a basketball in his hands and it isn't even a contest which one will win out.
It's a shame because the AFL have forgotten that kids are the future of the sport. It used to be cricket in the summer and footy in the winter. That was it. Now it's basketball all year round, soccer etc taking a lot of kids away from footy. TV and scheduling definitely does play a role in that. If you can't watch much of a sport you will lose interest very quickly. I lost all interest in the EPL once it moved from Foxtel to Optus or wherever it's gone because I can't watch the games anymore and I can't afford to sign up to more subscription services.
What a weird post.
So why is your son playing basketball? Because its obviously not from watching it.
Shame we don't play against the Camry Crows at KP.Melbourne in round 4 would be my guess
Yeah, it's similar to the close prelim vs blowout prelim theory when it comes to deciding the premier in GF week.Cant really win with this opinion. Sometimes premiers dont need to close games, sometimes they do. It's a hindsight thing.
In 2022, we had alot of easy wins up to the first final.
