If McLaren seriously came into this weekend thinking the track wouldn't be one of their strongest on the calendar I wonder what the gap will be at tracks they think they will be strong at.
Max said the same thing.

If he didn't make a mistake on that final lap he was right there.

Meanwhile Ferrari have fumbled things, which they don't often do in Melbourne

Another race (V8s this time) another lead taken by guy sitting in P2 on the grid at the first turn.

I reckon almost every televised race this year has seen that happen.

Guy on pole (Feeney) even tried to cover it off but there's just not enough room once the P2 guy gets an equal start.

Good signs for Oscar

We all know how good Lando is off the line. George might even have him by T1

Great qualifying session by the Aussie boys. Doohan was unlucky to cop a yellow flag on his final run. He was doing everything he needed to do up to that point. Williams and Racing Bulls looking really good.

Waters again rescuing a bad day.

Mostert deserves a penalty for running Golding off the road
The only question I had about that was whether Ryan contributed to Mostert hitting Golding.

Ryan was definitely there, on the inside of Mostert, while Mostert was sliding with the brakes locked up. Unfortunately they didn't show the replay from an angle which would either convict or exonerate Mostert.

Verstappen has destroyed 4 teammates, pretty amazing really that no teammate has ever got even close to him. There's only really two drivers like that I can think of and that's Schumi and Alonso (if you discount his McLaren year where they screwed him over for Lewis yet he still managed draw)

Lewis: I'm still learning the car
Alonso's debut in a Ferrari was a win. Admittedly they had more testing back in 2010

Until they make me look like a numpty and get a double points finish
It is still Williams
They will make you look like a numpty then, they showed in testing on long run pace its a toss of a coin between them and alpine for 9th-12th and with antonelli and lawsons flops that's p7-10.

Yuki will be the one to struggle to stay up there if anyone.
