You don't think the team and club need to harden TF up?
Fair enough I guess. But I do.

I'd like a mid that goes ball hunting without regard, and belts opponents to the ground who have the temerity to think they can get the ball. I'd also like a KPF who can take a contested mark. And a team that other teams are half scared of cause they know they're going to get bashed up around the ball.

I must be crazy thinking that's how you win football games.
Just seems to me like you're throwing the toys out the cot after 2 weeks in a season where we've played 2 likely top 4 teams and lost by a combined total of 4 goals which i believe to be a massive overreaction. But that's just how I read it.

Need to go and bring in a hard bull in the trade period. Even if its just one of the discarded youngsters we need more depth there

Heeney, Warner, Rowbottom, Sheldrick, Mills, Cleary (King) (Maybe McNamara)

2 of them are 28 or so.

2 are in their 23/24. The rest haven't played more than 2-3 games of AFL level completely on ball.

We have 4 on ballers that we know are AFL quality and one is injured

We will be Acadamying this year.

Interesting discussion on our list failures over the last decade, although from a Birds Eye view, we have been incredibly successful.

Personally, I don’t think we have a team problem.
We have a Grand Final problem.

IMO that is a coaching issue and hopefully Cox can overcome it.
I've said it before, but I think Horse went into the week leading up to each GF with the completely wrong mindset. While our opponents were hyping themselves up for the big occasion and embracing the week, Horse has admitted he went into the week and treated it as any other game. That was a mistake imo and honestly it might not have been the difference in all of the games but we might have 1 or 2 more cups in the cabinet by now if his approach were different.

Our fundamental issue is in the middle of the ground. We can't win enough quality ball and too often even bad teams can complete dominate us in the centre and around the contest.

It's too early to say if anything has changed under Cox, the team could look completely different with Mills (especially) and Gulden in it. But the early signs aren't great.

Until we address that problem, it is just a matter of time until the next meltdown in a big game.

The problem was that the previous GF he told the players to enjoy the lead up and soak it all up. That didn't work, so he tried the opposite the last time.

We have absolutely no depth in this team compared to the top top teams like Brisbane/Geelong. One thing I notice about the depth players for them is their size they already had the body to play top level footy.

We’ve had too many failures with tweener/ skinny types in Vickery, Stephens.
We need more surer types

re JUH, Scott Gullan wrote about some of it in this article:

Tom Morris also reported this last night:

Ideally he plays again and shows form, even if it's at VFL level. If he doesn't play this year, incredibly high risk, high reward proposition who WB will not give away cheaply, regardless of fitness (mentally and physically) to play.
