I loved how Kochie said that they are a family club so Thursdays dont work (fair enough IMO) but the super kid friendly times of Saturday and Sunday arvos are half full.....
You maybe right with your analogy but that doesn't pacify me. I understand all the logic but it still doesn't make me feel grateful. I am just a fan who would like at least one game a year but I know it cant happen. Just seeing the players live gives you a better understand or appreciation of these guys. Carrara is a option and one I have taken up but it can also be an inconvenience for personal reason.
From a football perspective, imho our FIXture is pretty good.
The easier start to the season is critical. If we are good enough we will make the Eight.
From a spectator point of view, there is a reasonable mix of day and night matches. I don’t like Saturday afternoon matches because I have to miss my local footy team. For families with young kids playing sport, Saturday or Sunday afternoons are best. For country people, Sunday afternoon is best so they don’t have to drive home late at night. No fixture is ideal with everyone.
Commercially, home games against Geelong, Carlton, Hawthorn, Collingwood and The Pear should sell out.

So why Essendon at the MCG and not Marvel? Not that I'm complaining... Last time we played Essendon at the 'G was in 1995! Will be only the 4th time ever that match up has been at the 'G.
