JHF any chance of gaining fwd status? Thought he may have during the year as he spent plenty of time forward this year.
As a draft owner I was astounded he didn't get it throughout the year somehow. Has to be a chance

Few relevant teams in OR as well

Brisbane - Coleman, Ashcroft x2
Geelong - B.Smith
Sydney - Mills, Gulden
Hawthorn - Day, Newcombe
Gold Coast - Flanders (if DEF)
Essendon - Parish, Merrett
GWS - T.Green, Coniglio
Collingwood - Perryman, N.Daicos, Houston
What's your feelings around Macrae ....will be a FWD ...and we could be tight for FWDS

We'll lose Heeney to Mids ....and Flanders to DEF

I might realistically take a look at five or six of those, but no more.

Won't be taking premiums from OR teams unless they're value (rules out Gulden, Merrett, Green, Houston, Flanders) and Perryman, Day, Newcombe, Parish don't particularly scream value to me. Daicos is a question, leaning against this year.

Every Premium I paid for in my starting side .....all failed & lost me big $$$

Dawson, LDU, English ....

We get seduced every year .....I gotta learn, and go 100% value

Butters was my M1 this year and I held him the whole year. I was very happy with that choice.

Yeah, that's the value I should have chased

I say it to myself every year, and most of the time I end up ignoring it.

But have 2 players in your team that are VC and C options, and then just go value across the board.

Last year I thought I had those players in Daicos and T.Green. But unfortunately neither proved to be reliable options at their price.

Potential captaincy / vice spots - R1, M1, otherwise value. Some potential 'value' premiums I'll have in my black book are Tim English, Daicos, Andy Bray, Rozee, Taranto, Trac, Sic Dawg, Ashcroft.

I don't know who I would take at the pure captaincy level at the moment. No one screams must have.

Of the top 10 averaging players

Of that list the only ones I'd feel confident putting a C on regularly are Marshall and Merrett, but neither are priced with any upside in my view.

Gawn, Zorko, Whitfield and Treloar are too injury prone/old to consider.
Not enough exposed form to fully trust Xerri, Sheezel or the role of Flanders.
Gulden also has question marks over role, and now the fact he is Opening Round makes him hard to pick.

Agree entirely. Merrett's history of:

202420232022202120202019
Zerrett109113107110115 (adj)108

makes him an entiticing option to pick purely out of consistency, but priced at 109 and now 30 years old, you wonder if there is any upside, or even potentially downside due to age.

Probably only keen on Bazlenka (given lack of FWDs) and Mills (depending on role) from that list.

Worth keeping an eye on Roberts and Callaghan too from the OR teams as potential starting picks.

JHF apparently has been confirmed as having FWD status, feedback from a podcaster .....and Rankine should be a fwd as well

I half expect to see a fairly generic forward line next year. Rankine, JHF, Bailey Smith and Phillipou should all be popular.

Traders were doing a bit of a trade period breakdown on their Patreon and after little hesitation they slipped quickly into Daniel, Macrae and Smith all being locks. Smith obviously is, and Daniel may be depending on his role, but I can't see myself going back to Macrae at this stage. I suspect there will be a big push for a midfield consisting of the "three former dogs" in the casual crowd though.
