Way too much travel and as expected our home games are disproportionately against non Vic teams. Better than this year though both financially and from a fairness perspective.

Who can tell me where Ninja Arena is? I come to Melbourne for the Tiggers game with friends and NFI of this venue
I had to look it up. It is in Hobart.

What's really quite striking is we sell a couple of home games to WA on commercial grounds, yet playing Richmond at Ninja stadium. If the AFL was serious about supporting the smaller clubs, why not let them play a Friday night game at the MCG as a home game vs the bigger Melbourne clubs. Why not play the Good Friday game at the MCG as well!

AFL 2025 FIXTURE DIFFICULTY (from easiest to hardest)

Based on the 2024 percentage of the teams they play twice in 2025

1 (Easiest). Richmond

2. Melbourne

3. Carlton

4. Adelaide Crows

5. Gold Coast Suns

6. West Coast Eagles

7. Western Bulldogs

8. Geelong

9. Sydney Swans

10. St Kilda

11. North Melbourne

12. GWS Giants

13. Fremantle

14. Essendon

15. Hawthorn

16. Collingwood

17. Port Adelaide

18 (Hardest). Brisbane Lions
finish second last but get 8th hardest draw lol

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but is this the first time ever that there hasn't been a pre-fixture announcement media beat up story about whether we should keep Good Friday? I can't recall one article.
as we get up off the canvas there will be other teams that take the whipping boy status.

Every. Single. Year.
yep just look at tigers double ups: cats, dons, saints, suns, eagles and us

vs our double ups: swans, dogs, blues, dees, crows and them

i would take any one of their 5 double ups over ours besides maybe cats over syd but that one is fairly line ball either way

Our home games in Melbourne are 5-2 local vs interstate
Home games is home games biggie. Not saying it's not an improvement from a low base but it highlights the concern post 2025 and why we are stuck in this cycle. We play so many more games against NSW, WA, QLD & SA teams compared to other larger Melbourne teams.

finish second last but get 8th hardest draw lol

That will continue to happen until one year when we finish top 4, all the shit teams are in the list above in bold and the AFL will need some serious mental hijinks to work out how they get out of us having double ups against all the big VIC teams. I don't think their fixture model could even accommodate those being the bottom 8 teams and us in the top 4 with say Coll, Ess, Rich.
