I didn't frame it any way. You are just jumping at the ‘Ooh women complaining about women's lot - AGAIN”… FMD. Read everything I've said since. It’s got nothing to do with her being a woman. It was a very genuine “why single her out, none of them offer anything”.
Isn’t it a coincidence that we are all reading it the same way? And you’re either bullshitting or can’t admit it to yourself what you’re intentions were.

Honestly, I am not bullshitting. I am purely saying NONE of them bring anything, why single one out? Bloody hell, you constantly complain im a happy clapper and when i bag the club, i get called out for bagging it the wrong way.

Because SHE was the one who resigned, it’s not hard to work out. I’m sure the next person to resign will also receive criticism.

It’s not hard to work out and it’s another reason why we are sceptical of your motives.

Sceptical of my motives? Do you even read what you write?

Do you?

And what I wrote is the same feedback you’ve been receiving so why would you be surprised with what I wrote?

And do you get it now or are you still wondering why SHE was singled out?
Hey don’t single Jenny out!!!!
Oh yeah she’s the only one that’s complaining..

It’s a pretty good cv. She was federal sports minister. Footy is tied up with politics (see: aquatic centre, thebarton), so having some politically connected ppl is sensible.

Cv is fine, performance (along with the rest of the board) was bad.
We’re a club whose chairman is a former liberal state premier and former chair of the liberal party

And we got funding from state and federal LABOR governments for Thebarton.

She doesn’t hold a hose mate, but she would get involved in political negotiations and relationships.

I’d argue she’s one of the few who actually did her job on the board.

jenny61_99 I expect you to jump in here and criticise El why she’s the only one been singled out for praise and not the others

Saying NONE of them bring anything is even stupider than singling anyone out.

Clearly the club is doing some good things in some areas.

It’s made a hell of a lot of mistakes and continues to do so but let’s not get carried away. We aren’t North.

How can anyone be happy missing 7 consecutive finals series, 5 with the same coach?

I'm someone who has high standards & don't accept mediocrity.

As I said, I think we have a lot of people who will legitimately blame things that aren’t the clubs fault before even considering looking inward.

I.e. the close losses aren’t down to tactics, it’s the umpiring.

Even on here where we all dissect the games there was probably more discussion after the Pies game about the Rankine running too far and how we got screwed, then there was how poorly we managed the game once we hit the front.

Look fair enough. My thoughts are the board members in general don’t appear to provide any tangible value and if you are going to bag her (or his) performance, you need to look at them all as a whole. This has been blown way out of proportion, but that’s not unusual for this board.

Ive watched this discussion from afar and
1. Its topical because she resigned
2. Roo has and will get 1000% more vitriol when he finally steps away

How we manage games when we hit the front in last qtrs HAS to be one of the main focuses (foci?) this off season. It's been a joke for years, and honestly, cost us 1 or 2 finals appearances. I can't remember ever seeing a team so consistently bad at it.

That and how we start games. Especially statement games where people are talking us up and its an opportunity for us to get a good win. Instead we start half asleep, claw our way back, hit the front at the start of the last quarter, then lose by 3 goals.

2 sides of the same coin, fix the starts, and we might not need to manage the end.

you blew this out of proportion when you asked why she was singled out when it was blatantly obvious considering she was the only one who resigned.

The board reappointed Nicks, that’s on the board collectively, inc Ellis.

Yes, they got Thebby over the line in the end, but they failed in North Adelaide and Thebby took forever. Pass mark at best for that.

All up, I think the board has done a bad job for many years. It’s better under Olsen, but still bad.

Bottom line is we have no idea who does what on the board. So we have no idea who is good and who isn't. Who contributes and who uses it for personal gain. We can't pass judgement on any individual.
All we can do is judge the board as a whole and I think it's been somewhere between impotent and incompetent.

Mostly agree except for Roo on football issues

And even then, how much of a say does he actually have? He's a conduit between the board and the Football department, but I'm not all that convinced that he has much of a say. Having said that, he's been there long enough... time for him to go.

Gave Penbo something to talk about on radio at times.

She was as useless on the board as she was in parliament

His support for the club is bizarre.
I don't know if he talks them down so as to not appear biased (or involved) but he says he..
Never talks to her about the goings on at the club,
he's often said he's not so attached, that he can happily walk away from watching a bad match,
he never watches the Women's Team (and really has no idea about it) and says he rarely goes to games (opting to babysit instead)
Seems to me he "doth protest too much"

Particularly for someone who spends so much time waffling on about Sturt, The Australian Test Team...& Soccer!

What about the football director, can we judge he or she for football?
