Tipping a ladder is a near impossible task - no one has ever done it on Bigfooty in 25 years of operation - and no one will go to the effort of fact checking me on that so I'll stand by it.

1. Brisbane
2. Geelong
3. GWS
4. PAFC
5. Hawthorn
6. WB
7. Collingwood
8. St Kilda

Nicks, Longmuir, Voss and Goodwin all under the most pressure.
Hinkley signs 6 year extension.

Vic/Interstate split since 2020

2020: 5 Vic/3 Interstate
2021: 4 Vic/4 Interstate
2022: 5 Vic/3 Interstate
2023: 4 Vic/4 Interstate
2024: 4 Vic/4 Interstate

It doesn't seem to change very far from this general trend (because professional sports are rigged and the AFL is kept afloat by gambling advertising, duh).

I tend to think next year will flip to 3 Vic/ 5 Interstate, just based on the quality of the sides and the fact that not many Vic teams really jump out at you as premiership quality.

1. Sydney
2. Carlton
3. Hawthorn
4. Brisbane
5. GWS
6. Collingwood
7. Fremantle
8. Gold Coast

Another thing the AFL loves is narratives. It would be pretty wild to have a GWS v Gold Coast finals matchup with Gold Coast causing the upset and having a chance to win their first flag before the Giants.

If you can predict the narratives, you've got the AFL figured out.

I provided ChatGPT with the 2024 H&A ladder and asked it to predict the 2025 H&A ladder:

1) using statistics from the table of instances the team that finished in position 1-18 in each of the 12 H&A seasons from 2012 to 2023 finished the following H&A season in the position ranges at the top of each column.

2) adhering to these rules (which are close to the averages over those seasons):

Top 4, 2025
  • 2x teams from 2024 top 4
  • 1x team from 2024 5-8
  • 1x team from 2024 9-18
5-8, 2025:
  • 1x team from 2024 top 4
  • 1x team from 2024 5-8
  • 2x teams from 2024 9-18

It was pretty lazy with most of the 9-18 without any rules besides those moving teams in/out of T4/8, and it appears to have a Collingwood bias ;)

We are very qualified thank you very much
The most successful club since the 1960's and still going strong :D
Well last year it was about Vic bias.

In 2024, it was a Sydney vs Brisbane grand final.

North bias mate LoL

Not bias towards north Melbourne, bias towards the Queensland and New South Wales states. LoL

For a team that was 11 points off the premiership. Geelong doesn't get a lot of love. They will be better next year, not worse...
If the expected and rumoured trades go through, very probably. If not, slight improvement, tread water, slight dip, all possible. But a slight improvement, if luck also fell their way, could bring a flag.
