2025 Ladder Predictions

The bias on this thread is laughable.

Saw a Freo poster tip Freo to finish second.
Saw a St Kilda poster tip St Kilda to finish 5th.

Let’s get serious for a second here and show some objectivity when doing your predictions.

For the record I had Melbourne finishing 13th next year.
Neither of those are outlandishly unrealistic predictions though.

That’s a pretty bizarre thing to do, lumping us in with those 3 teams, who won less games between the 3 of them this year than we did by ourselves (10 v 11). And who all had percentages which were at least 30 less than ours.

We won more games in just the last 8 weeks than any of them won all year and more in the last 8 weeks than two of them combined from their 46 games for the year!
Yeah St Kilda are a hard one to read.

Not sure what’s more reflective - the first half of the season where you were a 3-8 15th on the ladder side.

Or the second half of the season where you were an 8-4 top 4 or 5 kind of side.

I suspect St Kilda are somewhere in the middle and will finish around 9th to 10th, which must frustrate the hell out of Saints fans.

If Higgins doesn't kick that goal we finish 14th.

The teams we beat late in the season were at their lowest eb.

Were inconsistent like a rebuild side and we rely on too few players
If Rowan Wilkie or Steele go down we will go to water.
With the worst fixture I cant see it being a good year.
We just need to grow the kids.
Also the structure changes, battle replacement, new mids, king back at FF. A lot of turnover takes time to gel. I just see too much to overcome next year.

Didn't realise everyone's bets were already on.
Bookie odds mean nothing in December. Freo beat both grand finalists last year and were in the top 6 for 18 weeks. Hardly seems outlandish to suggest they'll improve.

That should be enough to secure Ken another contract

Thats my fear. Although over the whole course of the season we have a tough draw, the first half is pretty reasonable. We could very well enter the bye with 8 odd wins and in the top 4. At which point, Kochy will be quick to throw another contract infront of him just as happened last time he was out of contract. Only to then fall apart and fail again.

2025 is impossible to predict IMO. Injuries will have a big say.

My top six looks about right. I'd probably have Cats/GWS ahead of Freo for top 4 but could go either way.

7-14 is a genuine raffle and the last couple of rounds will be pure cinema. I can't wait.

Impossible to predict apart from Carlton minor premiers. Never change

You can't build on top of Everest mate.

In all seriousness though, I went through the archives and found my prediction from 2024. Don't think I was miles off tipping that we'd finish second. Looked pretty good until the boys overdosed on kool-aid. Here's hoping that a broken clock will be correct on this occasion.

I think the people putting North as some sort of bolting team or finishing above so many other teams on their ladder is the most laughable thing in here to be honest.

Yes, North should finally improve, but Melbourne for example finished just outside the bottom 4 in 2024 with 11 wins and 98%.

North haven’t had 11 wins in their last four seasons combined, but some posters have them finishing multiple places outside of the bottom four(I saw some one had them in the 8) and above as many as 5-7 other sides by the end of 2025.

2 wins and a percentage of 63% jumping up to a required 11-12 wins and 100% to place 10th-12th seems completely unachievable in 1 season for the youngest list in the comp.

The Bookies don't know what they are doing I got odds of 30 to 1 for the Lions to win the GF halfway through the season and I'm sure they would have been more during the GWS game

St Kilda finished 24 strong, I think injuries are hiding their potential.
Hawks are so impressive, will see how they respond to this very hard draw.
Maybe Collingwood will be back to their best with their backline shored up with Houston.

Brisbane were 13th on the ladder at Round 14, what would you expect the odds to be?

Collindwood will improve because they have added a top 5 player to their list.

Port Adelaide will improve but they have lost a top 5 player from their list.

Which one is it it?

It was still an outlier event, not quite Bulldogs 2016-esque but even from the Collingwood loss it shouldn't be underestimated what a feat that premiership was.

I say the Lions was harder Bulldogs at least had two games at home in Melbourne where the Lions were on the road 3 weeks in a row

This very hard draw has our double ups as 1st, 4th, 5th, 9th, 14th and 15th on your predicted ladder
