List Mgmt. 2025 List Management discussion

Yuck. I'd want Butters at la bare minimum for Nas. If we took Bergman as a swap we'd need to sweep the list managers office out. He's 9th in their B and F. Nas should be rightly in the absolute top echelon of AFL stars by the end of this year. He's our best talent since the early 2000s.

Absolutely agree with Gringo. Champion Data have come out today and said Nas and Sincs are the most damaging half back combo in the league, with Nas one of the most damaging ball users in the league.

So, Nas as arguably our best young talent in close to 20 years, and apparently we’re trading him for a banged up Butters and fringe Bergman, as well as coughing up a FRP is apparently pulling Ports pants down? That’s some next level nuffy.

If we’re doing this, may as well call it quits and take up badminton or pickle ball.

Is that implying that there's attitude problems or that it's hard to tell how driven people are in general?

Not saying anything about Tauru but in order to be really good at AFL level you generally need to have a top 1% attitude - workrate, professionalism, drive, etc. Most really talented guys never find that. A lot of the interviews and work pre-draft are about assessing whether or not a kid will get there. But sometimes you think Billings will develop the right attitude and ignore his mate Sinclair who ends up working into it.

They have written out the entire conversation from the tradies podcast.

Bluescum are supposed to be at their peak with their stars ..... and they are not even close to winning a Premiership ... realistically closer to a Spoon

Cripps 30 - carrying the midfield
Curnow 28 - body likely cooked
McKay 27 - still can't kick
Weitering 27 - carrying the backline
Docherty 31- cooked
Saad 30 - cooked
Williams 30 - injury prone & cooked
Walsh 25 - injury prone
TDK - FA & likely gone

Just beautiful reading

Thing with this proposed trade. Its like battle all over again.

We are sending another known high calibre player to another club and in return we have the potential of finding a player at the same level or better.

This ducking breeding ground/development pathway position we are in because we are seduced by potential has to stop.

Other clubs are making out like bandits. They get actuality. We are taking on all the risk.

Wrap NAS up. Let port take on the risk going to the draft.

Josh Battle was just as close to a Stewart type than what Bergman is
Funny that the idea of letting battle go so we can get an elite mid was getting heavily promoted on here this time last year.

We got absolutely rinsed from that idea and now we are talking the exact same shit but with NAS.

At some point we have to grow a spine and hang onto what we have or we are going to be continually rebuilding forever.

There is no one genuinely promoting that trade.

Good post
But you & I both know the plan was to dangle him before a ball was even bounced last year and it backfired when he and his manager found out what was happening. That is the reason he isn't with us now.
What ever way you look at its bad list management losing a 25 year old that finished 3rd in your B&F and no one to replace him

I find it funny people have gone with he was whipped because the clown that is Brianspeaking said so. I guess it easy then admitting club got it wrong
100%

We as a club keep making stupid ass mistakes trying to look for next messiah. Each mistake is different but at its core it's the same and it eventually puts us further and further behind.

The battle situation is starting to remind me of the Goddard situation.

At some point we just have to do better.

I can see Marshall & TDK playing together

Marshall rotating between ruck & bench .... he will be 30 next season so no need to kill him

TDK ... ruck, forward and bench ... more time on the field

Ruck duo .... with different traits yet both elite
We win so comfortably on the weekend just gone if we have that combo rolling. Me very much likey the sound of that

Its ridiculous.

No other club that is successful behaves like this. Shipping off players as soon as they come good.

****ing might as well just name us in the academy zones. Assign us to hawthorn and move on.

Southampton has fed Liverpool for years. Good Saints too. Apparently it's a thing.

It would be shit to lose Nas but this Bergman news means jungle drums.

Might be something like Nas for Bergman & Soldo to replace Nas & strengthen our ruck stocks, maybe some picks get thrown around too.
Soldo, you crack me up

Why the **** are we even discussing this shit? Like someone telling you that they wrote-off your car but they have grabbed you a sandwich.
Well all depends on what's in the 🥪, mmmm white bread and vegimite and it's done

He has good acceleration and is explosive but his sprint speed seems to be on the slower side

Compared to the likes of the names I listed who are both explosive and have a high level of top speed

His speed is more than fast enough.

But who needs truly elite speed when you are untackalable 95% of the time anyway.

The most recent article discussing battle is without a doubt the most embarrassing thing I've ever read on our club.

Its seriously pathetic.

Great article if you're hawthorn.

They could have saved all the words and just wrote "st kilda are so pathetic not even 17 million gets it done and a player who didnt want to leave rates joy and overall management more highly than cash so he accepted less money to leave the club because the other club did basic shit like provide match day baby sitting and not ****ing him around on the initial offer"

Its pathetic. We have to be better than that.

There can't be a genuine supporter around who thinks this is good list management or the signs of a club that's well managed. Its seriously alarming.

"You want to go to a club where you think you have a chance of having success, and it's hard to go to StKilda and think you have a chance of having success" said one industry figure. "There are not many clubs out there where you would think you have less of a chance. They don't have a great core of young talent to build around and it's like what am I going for apart from money? There is literally no reason."

Yikes, if that's the actual view across the industry we are really on the dog heap. Not sure how they can be so wrong, we clearly have a good core of young talent based on four good years of drafting. This year is exceptionally important, we need NAS, Owens, Windhager, Lou, Wilson, hopefully Trav and Tauru and maybe even King if he can ever get on the park to change perceptions of the club.
**** em all: Aleer, TDK, LDU, Bergman. No, we back ourselves and develop our own players. We will show the industry how little they know.

I want to see how Tauru and Barrat and Boxshall and Tobie develop before I throw in overs for more "almost guns" like Bergman and Aleer, even TDK.

I dont like the timing of this trade talk.
