Darcy Wilson is one of the most promising young players in the game but I’d say 60% Of non Saints fans don’t even know who he is.
Surprisingly the person who I’ve heard speak about the Saints with the most knowledge is ex Lions player Darryl White, I agreed with everything he said.
I wish Saints staffers/ fans would stop whinging about our lack of general interest/exposure - whatever you want to call it.Just get on with the job. ultimately if we start performing we will get the recognition we deserve it’s happened before in 97 and throughout the 2000’s. It’s all about success on field.

If we keep playing like yesterday they will know them soon enough. They have discovered Nas already.

Tigers did a great job imo
Imagine us on here if we had done what the Tigers done last Draft
If we had done what the Tigers did I would be happy, mean we won 3 flags in a four year period.
Could live with that.

They used the draft last year perfectly and supercharged their rebuild by picking up some great kids.

The media were all over Owens in 2023 but his down season last year meant they forgot about him. If we bank a couple more wins he's one they'll start paying attention to again.

Hammer's work at full back might come in for some love too.

I’ll consider my knuckles rapped. 🙄

Nevertheless, when commentators etc keep going on about the “young” Tigers team with 13 players under 50 games, without mentioning the fact that we had 11, with 5 players under 11 games, then I reserve the right to be p*ssed off.

Sorry if that doesn’t suit you.

PS, was it OK with you that in the AFL promo for season 2025, the Saints were the ONLY team that did not feature?
I don’t care about that at all.
Play good football the rest takes care of itself.

What is impressing me is we are not even close to full strength , having to play the youth due to injury.
No matter what any body says King and Howard are big shoes to fill and having them back will make us better.
Add on Henry who if right is as dangerous and can find gaps in any forward line, of course he hasn't shown it consistently due to injury but the sooner he gets back the better for us.

We also have Phillipou but with him being out so long I just hope he he keeps improving and if he does our midfield is going to be far better than it has been which.

We also have players like Butler and the experience can help when playing the bigger teams but with so many small producing he is not a must in the team now.

Stocker is one that warrants a position in the 22 , just because of his fierce tackling and we are short on short defenders.

So if we get King , Howard and Henry back in this team and we can keep a team on the park for most of the season who knows how far we can go.
But at the moment winning these games with these kids in the team is great for growth and development of these kids.

Fully expect Sharman will have a big year and will only get better from now and once King is back expect Sharman and Owens will get less attention giving us a hell of a lot more scoring opportunities.

hi guys, I do come in peace

don't quote me on this but wanted to see if you were aware of anything regarding NGA guys being eligible in their 19th year?

I know Adrian Cole is now apart of the Stingrays program but worth mentioning and looking into. Would be a great get if he came on in 2025

good luck with the year. Saints playing an exciting brand of footy

(note. I am not 100% certain on that information but wanted to let you know it may be something worth digging into)

Yes he is still part of the nga program. So if he improves we have the option of taking him

Windy - Great young leader; super diligent trainer; plenty of upside on field; Mitch’s best mate - would be insane to lose him - pay him a bit extra if needs be
Not just Mitch’s mate either (hint, hint)

He is an ok player not a real need for us IMO. Do we really need another HB who could play mid

Wouldn't pay to much attention to what John Ralph wrote about him leaving
Agreed don’t see the critical need
He likes us cause he wants more family time bayside that’s nice but surely we have bigger priorities
Sign NAS at 1
More class in middle at 2 - LDU looked good for Nth today …
Bergman not a critical need imo

If he is a stable pony for TDK so the zoomer has a safe space, all fine by me.

Last stable pony just got a career high 40 possessions for us yesterday.

I found it strange they offload the stars they did , basically saying there list was finished and really after they just picked up Taranto and Hopper and still having Lynch , Broad , Short , Balta , Ross giving away Bolton /26- who I rate as a player who can change a game in a instant and Daniel Rioli / 27, Baker / 27- imo the team still had life to give it a shake.

Well and good they have picked up some good kids but expecting kids to develop in to future stars can turn soar really quick like we have seen.

Carlton, currently 0-3, here's their run to their bye in Round 12...

Collingwood, L
West Coast, W
North Melbourne, L
Geelong, L
Adelaide, L
St Kilda, L
Sydney, L
GWS, L

Which would have them at 1-10. 💩
Wouldn't it be great to hand them the loss that makes them sack their coach?

Except I actually want them to keep their coach.

If there’s one thing we should have learnt from our recent history is that no amount of high drafted young players adds up to a good list build. There’s only potential.
Our 2 most consistent star players are both rookie selections.

That is probably due to us not using the national draft properly for 15 years. Probably the only club in history to get the bulk of it's premium players from the rookie list. If we had been able to draft in the ND and the rookie list, we'd have been a pretty good list.

Yeah, I heard that as well. Guys that don't get picked up can play again as over-agers and are eligible again. I think Peckett is available to us too. I think that might have happened with Cody Raak for the Dogs. Went through the draft one year and picked up the next.

Probably an unlucky year to go through the draft. There was so much talent available, even if he just has a solid year, he probably gets picked up.

A couple of nice quotes from Carlton fans...

“If Voss could please f*** off that would be great. We’ve had some sh*t coaches but he’s the biggest clown I’ve ever seen.”

“There’s always f*ing excuses and f**ing spin. F your stupid metrics mate YOU ARE NOT UP TO THE JOB. Get the f*** out."

“Ya cooked Vossy. Couldn’t coach at Brissy. Still can’t coach at Carlton. Best thing you can do is call it and pull the pin while you can.”

It's the path McLennan went as well.

Been spoken about at nausem and your 100% correct we screwed up so many draft picks its not funny that takes years to recover from .now more than ever list managment is crucial for sustained success .looks like we are finally getting it right with the right people in charge.there's no short cuts you have to able identify talent and then develop these kids .
