Didn't we discuss this on Monday already, they used old photos?Zero Hangers Report on Monday's session
Track watch: Star Demon back to his best as electric forward continues midfield trial
A superstar Demon has looked damaging this pre-season after an underwhelming 2024 campaign.www.zerohanger.com
They're even older photos now compared to on Monday. Que further outrage.Didn't we discuss this on Monday already, they used old photos?
2024 Oliver doesn't look like Oliver in articles. You gotta use 2022 Oliver.
Probably, i wasn't paying attention and didn't care enough to checkDidn't we discuss this on Monday already, they used old photos?
Well, what happens when you want 2022 Oliver?2024 Oliver doesn't look like Oliver in articles. You gotta use 2022 Oliver.
Getting caught is the least of my worries with Langford. It's just his speed all over the ground that worries me. He's probably slower than TMac. How is he going to defend if given an inside mid role?Langford in his clips often broke tackles or stepped out of traffic with ease at junior level. It's going to take a bit for him to get up to speed, but he's a big unit and will probably fill out to be able to break the same tackles at senior level in time.
As others have said, you'd rather him continue to play his game at senior level and adapt to the pace (even if that means getting caught a bit) - rather than change his game and just dish the ball off immediately for fear of getting caught when it's not the right play.
I guess we'll have to wait and see.Getting caught is the least of my worries with Langford. It's just his speed all over the ground that worries me. He's probably slower than TMac. How is he going to defend if given an inside mid role?
I don't know why players aren't on customised training programs tbh. I'd rather Langford be working all pre-season on his speed instead of being in group training.
But honestly, he could turn out to be a gun, it's just my first impressions.
Not ideal. But at least Max is the ultimate professional. And in great nick as it is.No Exercise for Max for two weeks plus another four of non contact due to a fractured Larynx from a hit to the throat at trainingPerformance Update | Dees on track for 2025

Explosiveness can be worked in and improved. Overall speed not really. I can see him at some point getting into some training specific to explosiveness off the mark.I guess we'll have to wait and see.
I think being slower off the mark can be mitigated if you've got either:
a) agility, good side step, excellent spatial awareness
b) good 2km times/work rate
c) excellent footy IQ/reading of the play
d) brute strength or physicality
e) very good reaction times/skill level
I think Langford has a decent mix of the above abilities, but the problem is that some of them will need developing as he adapts to senior footy.
If you've got a new talented kid on the list you want to integrate them into the team, get them learning structures and where they fit in, not on the other side of the oval doing sprints/specialised training. That shit is for the gym, where I'm sure they're probably tailoring his program to see if they can improve his speed.

Think Tmacs issue is he turns like a cruise liner, not his straight line speed.
But yeah feel we got spooked by Trac and Oliver threatening to leave and grabbed the first slow inside contested beast we could in the draft. Bloody crazy when you see the top teams who have gone hard on small forwards like Cats (Miers, Mannagh, Close, Stengle), Lions (LohMann, Bailey, Cameron), Hawks (Moore, Watson, Ginnivan), GWS (Bedford, Greene, Daniels, Jones +20 others).
Meanwhile we are relying on a suspended now-midfielder in Pickett, a perennially injured Spargo and a plodder in Chandler to keep that ball locked inside 50. Will likely only have Chandler playing in the first 3 rounds so we are cooked when he needs a spell on the bench or he pings a hammy.
Opposition rebounding defenders are going to have an absolute field day with blokes like Fritsch, Jeffo, JvR, Melksham, and Turner trying to run them down. Any coach who doesn’t exploit the **** out of this should lose there job. We will hands down have the slowest forward line in the league. But yeah let’s draft another slow inside mid instead.
Injecting 2 of Hotton, Berry, Dattoli, Reid, Hannaford into our forward line would've given us a whole new look.
Watch us now either play with the slowest forward line in the game or try use one or many of our ridiculous amount of NQR wingmen (Billings/Sharp/Brown/Woey/Sparrow/Bowey) to fill the void poorly.
Now don’t get me started on what fast nuggety midfielders like Butters, Daicos, Neal, Ashcroft, Newcomb, Serong, Merrett, Anderson, Gulden, Soligo ect would do to a slow plodding midfielder trying to defend them.
Our F50 is utter garbage. Freo absolutely own us because they have some of the best rebounding guys in the comp. Fritta doesn't chase. JVR is a good contest player but is a bit of a plodder. Turner is reasonable in speed but is hardly quick or noted for his chasing. Chandler is a decent tackler but is usually too far up the ground and rarely hurts you the other way. Trac is damaging mainly one way. Koz is the only threat in regards to pressure now ANB is gone. Maybe Viney spends time down there? Sharp potentially in the ANB role? Is he capable? I know our midfield needs work, but our forward half is deplorable on paper and on field. We usually go in way too tall as well.I completely agree with the need for more speed, especially our average small forward stocks. I wanted to draft one or two in the draft period too.
That doesn't necessarily have anything to do with Langford though. There's an argument that he was just the best available for us at that pick.
Plus Viney, Trac and Oli are getting on in age and have question marks of various forms. Even if Langford only becomes an inside midfielder, if he becomes a gun in that role, that'll be win.

- Oliver is amazing.
I've heard people describing Oliver as in shape etc. I just don't see it. He's 6-7kg overweight in my eyes.zoom in and analyse yourself.
He was like a statue out there, with ball in hand.Tholstrup had similar issues last year.
I like the weigh you think Sugar. He was like a statue out there, with ball in hand.
I'd like to see him take the footy while on the move, and then change direction as he ways up options.
I'd say there's no way Santa would go for a satanic football team from Australia.Dear Santa,
