Surely I’m not alone in thinking Goody is on watch this season. There were a few changes done around the review and probably wasn’t time to ditch the coach. Although I would have been fine with it. IF they had the right candidate.
I think if we have another poor season he’ll be axed.

I would like to think so but I'm still burning from that extension late 2023 (Yes, I know some of the people who actioned that are now gone). I'm just scared we will have a mediocre season when we never fully bottom out and end like 11th-12th and they let him stay on.

I think he’ll be lucky to survive a mediocre season TBH. With the list we have he should be making finals unless there’s some catastrophic injuries.

Not convinced on our list at all tbh. I think it's a 7-14 list. We're not better than Lions, Swans, Freo, Blues, Giants. Questionable whether Cats, Power and Hawks are better. Quite possibly. Pies own us. Crows are coming. So are the Suns. I think we're in that middle of the table bracket. Absolutely no lock for finals with our list. Goodwin is surely THE coach under the most pressure next season. Another mid to low finish and he's gone surely.

I know DL is always overly optimistic but I find it funny how the discourse on there is 'we will improve next year and push for top 4'. Do these people watch any games outside of ours? Do they even watch ours? I agree we 'should' be in the finals mix but so many people are so confident we will simply reverse the trends that started in 2022 without a dramatic shift in personnel. Some of them almost seemed angry that Goody actually said we'd been crap in all three phases of the game, like how is that even debatable?

At least we've tried to do something with the midfield. F50 still a disaster. If Chaplin can turn into some sort of functioning part of the ground, then hes a genius.

I'm happy we drafted mids, but if they're rolling out Oliver/Trac/Viney for the majority of the time in 2025 we are absolutely cooked.

Clarry will be an interesting watch next off season. Seems he’s in a much better space than last year. But he’ll have some suitors. Or suitor in Geelong. The big problem will be his enormous contract. And how any trade deal works through that.

I think Trac is a much bigger worry tbh. Another poor season with a shoddy gameplan will be enough for him to chase success elsewhere i reckon. He'll want another flag before he's done.

My money is on Clarry and Trac to both be at the Dees for another year - it will be the game plan that will get Goody if it doesn’t go well this year.

I'll be shocked if we finish higher than Carlton. Blues should be right behind Lions for flag favourites. They've grossly under performed last few years. They're due.

I agree he’ll be hungry for more success. But similarly to Clarry that contract will be a sticking point. But a club will cough up as much as they can as he is a clear match winner. Would be a huge trade if it happens given the contract length and $.

Think you're over estimating Carlton a bit tbh, a lot of the problems we had they are now encountering with the way they play. I think they'll finish above us for sure but really doubt they'll push for the flag.

I’m not sold on Carlton either. They could easily struggle if they get off to a poor start. Totally agree with what schmuttt said - they have some similar issues to us in the way that they play. They just have better tall forwards.

Langford looks to be a legitimate threat in the air, almost a third tall type. Would take him ahead of sparrow every week.
