I hope they did too, but the unfortunate thing is, after the Hawks game when Voss was asked about our inability to run out games etc and he started to use our i50 numbers as a reason as to why there wasn't an issue........if thats the thinking coming from our head coach (Quantity over Quality) then it kind of all starts to make sense as to why the same issues pop up every single week with this playing group.... bombing it long and high into our F50
1000%. I am tired of the measure being the number of inside 50's. The measure should be kicking goals, that's the whole point of going inside 50's.

Then you are forced to ask questions and find solutions to our effeciency. e.g. leading spots, poor set shots, BOMBING IT...etc..

It’s almost as if near enough is good enough Damo. The quality of our I50s has been an issue for a while - and having a depleted forward line has exasperated the problem.

I know the days of Williams drilling it into a leading Sticks are gone but I hope they really dont think if we get in there enough something good will eventually happen, cause its not.

We have plenty of form here btw, Cottrell had that rather low percentage shot from the boundary when the Tigers game was in the balance, if he had looked, which he had plenty of time to do - he would have found many targets straight infront of goals. I still cant fathom how Durdin missed hitting up Harry in the final seconds of that Collingwood game in 2022 and least gotten us a draw.

Voss keeps talking bout teachable moments and so on, if he / they cant see there is a better way......

Assume will be predicatable, Michael Voss refusing to evolve picking a slow top heavy side. All his media seems to indicate that he will simply refuse to make any material changes.

The media is finally noticing what many of us have noted for years - even when going well, we play a highly demanding inefficient game style.

Extremley undermanned dogs side should be a win, but suspect we will win contested ball, lack run with 3 or 4 talls in defence and 3 or 4 talls in attack.

Not so sure, the moment the weather improved they dismantled us.

We had the run but couldn’t put it on the scoreboard. Then some moments that lead to easy goals for them.

Free kick + 50m penalty due for the 19th man/interchange infringement & we’re 4 goals up (maybe confidence with it).

Wasn’t this pre-season going swimmingly until the hamstring (2 months rehab before a game)?
Yes it was going as good it could (without match pressure mind you) however it's something he's never had right for 2 years. It is being managed the best it can but he will never be free of it and the flare ups will continue to rear their ugly head. I feel for the kid as it's something he'll have to manage for the rest of his life.

The physical side is one thing, but not being able to perform the way he used to is possibly even harder for him to deal with.

Something that has slid under the radar what with all the other (warranted) criticisms going on is that our goal kicking accuracy has been appalling.

Across 2 games we've kicked 17 goals 27 behinds. Make that 27 goals 17 behinds and things look very different right now. It definitely cost us vs Richmond and vs Hawthorn we actually had the same amount of scoring shots, they were just 33% more accurate.

Would love for us to get over 50% accuracy in this game.

This patch we’re in is awfully familiar to the patch we had early in 2023. Playing with little confidence, dominated a lot of key stats, but couldn’t get the ball into good positions to score. And if we did, it was rarely taken advantage of

Yep thats a good point. And looking at this, we actually had quite a few "easier" shots than the Hawks did

Compared to our game against the Tigers where most of our scoring shots were not in good positions (and it showed)

The person who mentioned this to me doesn't make shit up and is as passionate about this footy club as anyone I know, and does know some people in and around the fringes of the club.

Not saying it is true and neither is he just something that he was told in passing.
I guess we will learn a little more at 620pm Thursday night.

First thing this morning on SEN, Gary Lyon was saying that he drove past the tan and he saw Michael Voss and Harry McKay walking the Tan and talking.

Make of it whatbyou will.

How many rushed?
How many from tight angles?
How many from McKay and Silvagni (amongst others) who are notoriously shit shots at goal.

I’d say the poor conversion rate is a symptom of our shit house skills and expecting us to have a better than even conversion rate is overly optimistic.
