Zero chance i start him at present.

If he is named round one he is 100% in my team at R2 or Flex. Number one ruckman with decent scoring history for 260k - that is one of the easiest picks ever.

Heard a pod stat (as most probably have) that in 30 games when he has had 70% ruck time he averages 83 SC
so good enough for me if ps indicates.
Has a fairly tough start with Witts,Oscar,Darcy,Briggs,TDK although Oscar doubtful.

Same pod has Kiddy right to go round 1 .

im currently liking flynn at r2. im not really sure on the rucks other than xerri being top liners, and could see myself wanting any or all of english, gawn, marshall, darcy or tdk depending on how their year goes, but am not that confident in starting any of them.

i think taking a punt on one or the riskier mid price midfielders (oliver, ashcroft, parish) in the flex position is a better play if we can guarantee 8~ weeks of flynn holding down r2. they each have more upside than any of the likely r2 candidates if running flynn as flex.

Gawn and English have averaged over 120 previously. Gawn went 124 last year. Strange statement. He was the second best player for the year across all positions.

Don’t mind that approach if you don’t like the rucks, think that makes sense. However, if we don’t get a playing R3 rookie, then Flynn in Flex allows you to cover all three rucks through DPP for any short term injuries.

Harry Boyd will play for sure once officially signed for us. Should be 99k to partner Marshall who will help out King in fwd line

Agreed, like him a lot if he does play. If he does, would go:

R1: TDK
R2: Flynn
r3: fwd/ruck loop
Flex: Boyd.

Currently have Shrek instead of Boyd. So would then go an extra premo in another line.

I've gone a bit different in that I have Reid (R/F) at R3 with Xerri/Meek and Gawn the Flex...........it's early doors at this stage but can't see me changing.....unless injuries happen of course.

Like this option as well. You can also pick an early bye ruck like Meek with Flynn in flex and a R/F swing.

Just move Flynn to R2, Meek to R3, forward/mid to the flex and the R/F swing into the forward bench.

But agreed Boyd makes that even easier.

Warming to TDK because I'm scared he's going to start the year with a 140 average. I firmly believe he'll breakdown at some stage and need a few rests, I'm confident Pitto will play 5-10 games this year, but if TDK explodes with a 140 average and hits $700k+ and you don't have him, you're screwed.

The counter argument to that is he has Nank and Meek in rds 1 and 2, who are 2 very physical lads. They could rattle him and his body could cop a beating.

You can make a good case that it's better to start a riskier player like TdK, rather than trade him in during the season. Only costs you 1 trade to get rid, rather than 2 (1 in, 1 out).

Injury prone players like Day and Cerra probably are the same. You either start them, or don't get them at all (Unless maybe late in the season).

I just remember Whitfield having the same injury curse the last few years .....and then he pulls out a career best season

It can happen. Recall Robin van Persie. Spent 10 years constantly injured, then had two injury free seasons, then went back to being broken.

Whitfield is interesting, wonder if he can pull out another injury free season.
