If Dom's OOC at seasons end (I think?), is it worth asking him the question as to whether he'd retire before the mid season draft?

Would allow us an additional pick to actually have a warm body on the park.

he doesnt even have to retire, just go on the long term injury list, after all thats what its there for.

He has a calf niggle
It may be actually only be a niggle. I guess what I'm wondering is if Dom and the club have been able to have an open and honest dialogue about what the future holds.

If that has happened, and it turns out the plan is he'll be delisted at the end of the season; I would then be wondering if Dom is able to transcend the needs of the self, see that has not provided value and consider retirement to allow use to get another recruit in.

(This is with the caveat that the club had not right royally fckd up his treatment over the last 2 years)

Im saying the calls for him to retire when we have 26 fit players or moving him to the LTI are a touch premature. He could be back on the park soon enough

Dom Tyson’s recovery from a calf injury has ramped up in recent times, with the midfielder increasing his training loads as he looks to return to competitive football.

Tyson played the first two AFL games of the season before suffering the injury, but Rawlings says he expects the number 21 to be back in contention in the coming weeks.

“Dom’s going quite well … he’s made some good progress and we hope to have him involved in games soon,” he said.

“He won’t be playing this week in the VFL since he still has a little bit more training to complete, but we’ll certainly look to see him back soon.”

Round 1 Vs Port Adelaide - 13 disposals, 3 tackles, 6 marks

Summary

Re-occurring calf injuries pretty much ruined Tyson's season one again. He had a limited pre season due to the injury and although he started off in the senior side, he re-injured his calf after a few games in the VFL. He started to make progress in later July, but again had a re-occurrence of the injury. In his two senior games in round 1 & 2 he failed to cement his spot or have much of an impact. Ultimately, Dom failed to fire a shot this year which seems to reflect his career in north colours. 5 games in 3 years is a huge disappointment for the ex number 3 draft pick. He will probably be the first player delisted this year. A bit of a shame that he wasn't able to resurrect his career.

Never got on the park. Will go down alongside Gavin Urquhart and Mason Wood who got gifted contracts from the club and took us to the cleaners.
Joyces parting gift.
