Thats a tad harsh, he had limited game time because of the operation he had just as he got to the club, and add to that we had Cotchin, Martin, Foley, Grigg and Jackson that didn't play so no surprise that our best on the night was Tuck being the only experienced bigger bodied midfielder out of the whole team.

From what we saw of Conca though he seemed calm and a smooth mover in traffic and from what disposals he did have I don't think any missed the target.

If you're willing to make a comment about one of our players I have every right to come in here and dispute it.

Same goes for our board, we have several threads about Houli on there with plenty of discussion from Essendon supporters.

Bit harsh on Conca guys, even though I think Richmond have made a HUGE mistake, who cares anyway!
We got Heppell our future champion!

yeah well to be fair my real point is they are first year players and our own supporters are bagging Heppell for his first game.

So my point IS at least heppell got the ball on several occassions unlike Conca who was being built up to have a year like Dustin martin last year, maybe I should have used one of our own as an example such as Myers but I like nothing more then giving it to the richmond faithful...

Personally i think richmond should have taken Caddy, but we shall see who is right in 3-4 years time...

And incidentally I have seen several games of hepell for gipplsalnd power and was rapped we got him. And please dont try and put words in my mouth, i said conca belongs to the group that were picked in the 20's not that he wouldnt amount to anything.
 
against Melbourne tonight dont be suprised if Heppell gets 20+ touches, 17 or 18 are not very good performances for his standards.
seriously this kid will get a fair bit of it the later the game goes on, always seems to have much better 2nd halfs. I think once teams begin to tire out he just mops up the ball time after time.
He is also getting 15 in the beep test now to.

Lets just say that I misenterpreted your post. It reeked of a typical "lol at Richmond for picking their spud when they could have had our gun" post.

So just because a couple of Essendon supporters had there own opinion of him you have to make judgement of another teams player?

Care to elaborate on that further please? Or are you just fabricating facts to suit your own argument?

Conca has never been built up as the next Martin by anyone, he has had an interrupted pre-season and only joined the main training group after the Christmas break.

And it's not like Conca didn't touch the ball at all, he had 6 possessions total without about a total for both games of 15 mins game time.

I didnt make judgement, I have given a point of comparison that people shouldnt get so down on a player in his first game because they think his foot skills should be at an elite level. Heppell got the ball he did a couple of good things that shows he could be a good player. people are quoting that they were dissapointed with his kicking? Conca got taken a couple picks higher then Heppell he didnt do much more then Heppell.

As in Conca to Martin comparison have a look at the supercoach archives. You did say anyone didnt you?
 
WOW this kid is going to be a GUN, i havn't seen the kid before tonight but his poise under pressure and decision making for a first year player has 200 games writen all over it.
 
It is still only a couple of NAB cup matches but the way he gets the ball in traffic and is able to side step the on coming pressure and work his way through is something that cant be taught.

He looks like he belongs and is very comfortable out there which is great.
 
Put it this way he is equally able to dominate games in the midfield as he will be able to do it in a quarterback role. Plus he loves a goal as well as seen tonight. He is an absolute gem, and in my view our best draft pick for years. I have never been more sure a bloke will make it after we picked him.
