Re: Dyson Heppell

Really??

I've seen Hodge make some pretty ordinary attempts on the right.

Yes but he is still reasonably reliable on the right.

Re: Dyson Heppell

Well i'm calling it...

NAB rising star this year. 300 game player. In the best 5 players in the league by 2014.

Lenny Hays with a bit more penetration on his kick.

This is based on the law of averages. Surely we have to have a bit of luck at some point with a top pick breaking through.;)

Re: Dyson Heppell

I will go out on a limb and say, Heppell will be in our top 3 players very soon.
the boy can turn games on their head, against Vic Metro he had 20 touches and a goal in the last 1/2. he has real hot patches where he can get 5,6,7,8 touches in a space of 5-10mins, his touches normally are always to his teams advantage in space, if not on the chest.

watch Brodie Smith also.

Re: Dyson Heppell

I really hope the kid has got a good head on his shoulders

Sure he can play well, but during the game he didnt play the 16 and 17 year old groupies couldn't get enough of him. TBH i felt a little sorry for him, I hope he deals with it well and makes good choices when he's off the field.

Re: Dyson Heppell

didn't think he was all that great in the first game tbh. got the ball a bit but his kicking wasn't great. would have liked to see him in the 2nd, more serious game.

his kicking definitely let him down, but **** he got some ball. He clearly knows where to run - being able to read the play is just invaluable, and something that's almost impossible to teach.

I (and I'm sure you) am willing to put the scrubby kicking down to nerves and adjusting to the pace of the game.

I reckon he showed he could be a serious player

Re: Dyson Heppell

Im not going to make any outlandish statements but you can tell already he will fit in like a glove at senior level, whether he ends up a solid B-grader or a gun I will leave that to time.

His kicking is normaly much better, but I think it just might take a year or 2 to really get up and going, confidence, ajusting to the speed, muscle ect

Re: Dyson Heppell

did any1 see the Saints when they handballed the ball around in the midfield and got it to Goddard and he banged a perfect pass to a forward 20m out.
against bris I think

well I have seen Heppell do that, so he may just need time to adjust

Looks like a player, no doubt.

Seems to find the ball in space quite well, and looks calm in traffic.

Reckon this is a 200-gamer at the least on our hands here.

Didn't stand out at all to me, but I wasn't giving the game my normal amount of attention due to the horrible format.

He and Polec stood out like beacons. Both looked classes above any of the other rookies. Love his composure and the way he moves in traffic. Did some lovely spoils also.

Everybody seems to be impressed by his games, so I'll take their word on it.

You don't have to take anyones word on it. It's all subjective.

I personally can't see what all the fuss about Colyer and Jetta is all about and I'm not going to change my mind because it is the general consensus. :thumbsu:

I agree, didn't exactly blow my skirt up either. Was very impressed by Polec though.
