A good, well administered organization would have not let one man make that type of decision jeopardizing our future
It wasn’t his job that’s list management. Unfortunately Dimma got a lot of power after the three flags and became the mad Scientist of 2016 again.

Maybe slim him down and play him on the wing Josh caddy style. Gives us a chance to put a player with breakaway speed at the centre bounce

We don’t have any players with break away speed LM that can play midfield. Bolton and Baker are too small in the modern game and they’re failing atm as it is.

And the majority of the soft cap so the assistants left

Hopper is contracted till 2029

We are screwed
Yep a VFL plodder on AFL A-grade wages. I said it early last season if we could get a second rounder for him in return I would jump at it, but there's just no hope now as nobody is that gullible. I hope he has an honest heart and retires end of next season as that's our only saving grace.

In a lot of ways the Yarran trade was better for Richmond than this hopper trade

It was better because Yarran was out of the system in a little over a year, and we could move on

Hopper has another 5 years after this one, he can barely run, falls over and is always injured

Not looking good

I think it’s pretty clear Hoppers ceiling was during the u/18 TAC, just so big and heavy he could push his way through the packs to get the ball and he hasn’t got that natural advantage anymore. I’ve heard Clayton Oliver talk about him as the oppo player everyone thought was unstoppable at that level.

I hope as a team we get to the stage quickly where we just bring him in to be a def mid against the Cripps types a wet weather specialist.
Was at the game yesterday, the game is that fast around the stoppages he just doesn’t have the reactions to get rid of the ball quickly and complete a pass.
Even Nank gets the ball away more quickly.
For a guy whose been as injured as often as he has and what he has to offer in terms of his game it’s looking like a poor decision.
Should not play at Marvel again.

Five more years of these two pedestrian and under skilled footballers. I don’t know how we could offload them with the size of their contracts.
They're both second level, accumulator type midfielders but some people think the Taranto trade was a good one because he racks up the pill (and either does nothing with it or worse turns it over).

I'll admit I was all for the Taranto trade but I hated the Hopper idea even before it happened, never rated him at GWS and the price we paid deserves the hole it put us in.

Hopper is clearly well below even the best we have seen of him at Richmond at the moment. He is lacking power and match fitness.

See if he gets a decent run at it in the future and gets back near his best, he will look a completely different proposition. Not a top shelf mid, but definitely a competitive one.
