Louis would just stick him in his magic sauna and hed already be 100% i dont know about this serpell chap

Serpell has a very good track record.

Agree proof is in the pudding but in terms of getting someone that’s in that elite pool of available talent he was right up there.

Have they made a final yet?

Yes. If he can't be conditioned properly in 3 months of training to come in and play half forward with some midfield stints then obviously something is very wrong injury wise
This kid Law La has never had a pre season and is coming of a bad hamstring injury
I really dont care if he doesnt play a game of football until the bye round

Just get the kid's hamstring right and a full pre season under his belt with a taste of a few games will suffice
Its a long game and we dont give a flying feck about 2025

When was the last time the first pick in the draft (that wasn't a tall) didn't debut round 1?
Very strange argument. So we’re going to play him cause that’s that everyone else has done? Shocking way to make decisions. Every case is unique and all that really matters is that he has a long term career with us and if that means delaying his debut then so be it. Draftees already have shortened preseasons and he won’t get going in earnest until well after the break, would not be surprised at all if we were cautious with him.

I know reading comprehension has never been a strong suit for you but I will break it down I guess.

No, we will not make a decision based off what other clubs are doing or have done. Yes, it does point to a trend for what clubs like to do with their 1st pick. A 13 year trend we would be breaking if he we play a number 1 pick midfielder in the VFL. So I like the odds he plays.

Lots of these pick 1 that have debuted rd 1 didn't have the perfect preparation or didn't have great endurance bases. Fans want to see him, clubs want to play their number 1 pick. All these things matter, indeed.

Lalor will be playing round 1 vs Carlton if he is not injured and is fit enough to play football.

Something I wanna know about young Sam is does he have good lateral movement? Does he ever use sideways movement to get out of trouble?

Ok mate. He might play, but I don’t think it will be for the reasons you suggest. I have better faith in the club than that. He plays if he earns a spot through the preseason. We’ve just drafted 7 players in the top 30, we’ve got enough young talent to show off without giving games to players that aren’t 100% match fit and haven’t earned it.

This is a good question. I have watched most of his 2024 games now and whatever 2023 I could find and I would say yes but it's a wait and see.

There are about a few moments each game I see him weave out of congestion and for his size I go "woah that's nice". But he didn't do it enough for my liking. Same goes for the bursts into space with speed. Saw it a bit but not frequently every game. I kept hoping for a bit more.

Some especially you would've seen on his highlights obviously when he looks like Dusty but obviously Dusty was moving like that nearly ever possession. You see Lalor move like that only a few times a game and other times he looks a bit flat footed.

If we wanted pure agility mids we would've drafted Jagga or FOS. A lot of Lalor's game is revolved that around power and the stiffy to get out of trouble.

So he is capable but he's not doing it consistently. That maybe tells me he will bring out the lateral movement stuff more frequently when he has better conditioning...hopefully.
