I love Goldy, has been a great player, but we need to resolve our ruck crisis, I am not sold on Xerri, he is injury prone. 4 games in 2020, 8 in 2021, 12 in 2022, 9 in 2023... Shirley we can't be pinning our hops that he is going to be consistently playing all season.

I’m only half joking… but.. can’t Greenwood ruck if needed?

Ruck is a bit overrated anyway.
If a lumbering dude can’t clunk marks around the ground, he’s actually clogging up an extra midfielder spot imo.

We don’t need a slow dude tapping it to advantage maybe 30% of the time and offering little else. A decent utility who is good beneath his knees is required more than that imo.

What does X offer us? What is his factor?

It’s not like Hugh was getting a game anyway btw

Why did we let Brown and Daw go anyway?

And Free. We should pick another from the VFL early 20s in age, and a kid from the draft. Give Edwards the flick.

4 blokes need to be competing for 1-2 senior spots.

We’ve invested very little in Rucks over the last 6 years
Left field option. Cooper keogh from our vfl was impressive. Possible rookie option?

I don't understand why we aren't balls deep into Grundy.
I reckon it’s because the Dees would want a second rounder, and a second rounder for bridging talent who won’t be around when we’re having our next tilt isn’t the best use of our limited draft hand.

If it was just a case of stumping up for his salary and a fourth rounder, it’d be different, I reckon.

Also, seems like he might wanna get out of Melbourne?

How has Grundy sunk so low? A few short years ago, when he was at Collingwood, Grundy was telted as the next big thing. It's quite staggering.

Gawn/Grundy combo didn't work. Similar to us with Goldy/HMac. Both good ruckmen, but didn't fit as a duo.

He inexplicably decided to go to a club that had a ruckman who plays one out, and he has no forward ability.

Ludicrous.

Yeah, but I seem to recall that even in his last season or 2 with Collingwood that the wheels were slowly falling off so to speak. He has only gotten worse with his time at Melbourne.

Max Gawn must be a hell of a salesman. Preuss and Grundy both thought it'd be great trying to play equal 1st ruck with a premiership grade 1st ruck.

Maybe Tim English, Sean Darcy and Kieran Briggs can all request trades to Melbourne this offseason.

He was injured and out of the team for a lot of his last season there - I don’t think his form at the Pies dropped off otherwise, but in his absence McCrae realised he could run his team better with Darcy Cameron and Cox rucking and the extra cap space. His Melbourne stint has been a black hole. I think with a proper role and regular senior play he’ll surprise a few and make Sydney better.

Brodie Grundy? He's 30 next year, and we won't get him for nothing. Is it just me, or is it beyond stupidity?
