Piss this pressure and tackling shit off.

Get to the ball first, not second.

I'll take a 20 disposals 3 tackle game over a 6 disposal 10 tackle.

Tackling is not their issue, getting the ball is. That is what they need to work on.

Have you watched the dogs this year? If we dont apply pressure and instead try to play high possesion open football we will be cut to shreds.

Must pressure the ball carrier and reduce their run!

19 touches in a VFL game and we're all having a wank ...

People have been wanking over 6 touches.

The calls for him to have played today are ridiculous.

You can't win without the ball! Basketball, football, netball, ice hockey. You don't win games without it.

3 sports you cant physical ****** you opponents disposal of the ball and win the ball by doing so.

Pressure wins games, not bruise free football.

Ever watched an ice hockey game?

The beginning of Happy Gilmore wasn't an exaggeration you know. Nor was The Mighty Ducks.

What you do without the ball is just as important as what you do with it.

Without Swallow's 12 tackles today we would not have won.

Still got the ball 21 times.

thats fine, but what u do without the footy thats important. Why do you think people get sick of Gibson and Bastinac not applying enough pressure. If those blokes applied as much pressure as the likes of Harper/Garner/Turner no one would ever criticise them.

Not to mention playing across half forward is a dead zone. There are hardly any small forwards who average over 15 touches a game (Thomas + Nahas for example) so it becomes critically important how much pressure you apply which Harper does successfully at VFL level.

He does still have to get his hands on the pill more, but so does Garner and Turner.

Yeah because Harvey, Petrie, Goldstein, Cunnington, Ziebell, Swallow, Thomas, Firrito, Wright, Atley, Thompson among other are just battlers aren't they. Back under your bridge you troll

Thanks for your input.

Wright lasted all of 8 mins on Walters.

And tackling and pressure won us the game, imagine we had more of it.

noway will he play the rest of the season with the huge games we have coming up unfortunately. The club shouldve played him in some of the games in recent weeks where we had average opposition, same as Mckenzie to see if they were up to it at all. Unfortunately I see the 2 of them gone at seasons end,.

Will we ever see him play again?

Don't know about this season but if his body is indeed in the best shape for 2 years, we should sign him for one year deal to see what he can do after a full preseason. None of that delist and rookie list crap please as we don't want to lose him. There are enough people to delist this year for him to be given one more chance.

Could this guy put on another few kgs and play Spuds link role out of defence?

Playing as a defender is much easier than playing forward because your opponent is taking you to the ball all the time.
With his closing speed and core strength I keep saying he could be a very good backman to replace Spud.

Rookie him and find out.

We are looking at 4 retirements and Currie more than likely going elsewhere, so we are not going to be pressed for delistings, so I agree that there is plenty of justification on a 1-year deal based on what he has been showing in the second half of the year (same applies to BMac).
