I just realised we went 172 pages without anyone mentioning how much levirage we'd have in this trade.

Just remember in the last 5 drafts we have picked up:

A. Black = pick 25
K. Harper = pick 27
M. Wood = pick 41

This is just draft picks we acquired through trades. Not counting the B. Brown and K. Turner type late picks.

EDITED to remove S. Gibson.

Sam Gibson was picked in the rookie draft. He was upgraded for pick #76 at the end of 2012.

Remove Gibson as per TennisPlayerAndy comments and you have no best 22 reliable players there (yet) unfortunately. Mitigating reasons notwithstanding.

The club seems to be leaving it in Pies hands waiting on outcomes of the Beams and PLG trades. Rather frustrating i must say. Picks wise im down to something like this now.

21 + swap of 3rds

23+25 we give 36

25+30 we give our 3rd

But god knows where it will end up. Disappointed that we seem very passive with this one.

If Beams is worth 2 first round picks then Levi has to be worth a 1st rounder and a 2nd rounder, or either 2 2nd rounders at the very least, thats without swapping any picks. If we swap any picks from the first 2 rounds we will be getting bent over.

I fail to see what all the fuss is about.

Levi played a few good games in the year that his contract was up and was rewarded with a $1m contract over three years. Over the next 2 years he spent a good amount of time in the twos working on deficiencies and learning how to follow instruction which turned him into the midfield bull that we know and (used to) love.

The year that his contract is up and surprise, he plays more good games and is rewarded with a more lucrative contract, only to turn it down for even more lucrative offers.

I don't begrudge Levi taking the money as the vast majority of people would do the same thing given the monetary difference. I would love to have Levi remain at the club as we have put so much development into him, but at the same time I would worry about (a) was this year an aberration with his contract coming up and (b) where does his motivation lie?

My gut feel is that Levi fears that he's not best 22 and has one shot at securing a decent contract. If he doesn't have the confidence to back himself in, then I'm happy to see him walk.

Just remember in the last 5 drafts we have picked up:

A. Black = pick 25 we lost Josh Gibson (out of our control)
K. Harper = pick 27 we lost David Hale (again out of our control)
B. Jacobs = pick 37 we lost Hamish McIntosh
M. Wood = pick 41 + M. Wilkins pick 47 we lost what turned out to be Jackson Ramsay at the Pies.

I would prefer we keep Levi but also have faith that we will use whatever pick we get well. Hey at least we don't have Petrie and Boomer getting Scott sacked.

I agree to an extent.

My beef is only that I am not sure what we get will be fair compensation.

what is it pick 31 + 6 years development + decent coin to play seconds = pick 30?

That's pretty shite.

Pretty shite lol thats pathetic. Like I said earlier either they cough up 2 2nd rounders at a minimum without swapping any of our picks or we're getting screwed.

So for mine nothing for Levi and him ending up at a Club that won't go anywhere during his time is much more palatable than him ending up at Collingwood. Who as we know will move heaven and earth to remain in contention. IMO obviously.

Have only relatively recently got into The Good Wife (yeah, yeah, settle petals) and loved this episode...
