Really looking forward to this debut. I've just got a feeling about Bryan. I reckon he might just be the second best of our 1st and 2nd year players only behind Cox. Watching him in the first quarter of the VFL last week - he absolutely cut the opposition open. Just won everything he was involved in and his ball use was really damaging which you don't normally say about rucks.

Also Rutten really made him sweat a bit before he told him he was making his debut. I did like one thing Rutten said which (paraphrasing) was like : "I know you've been wanting to come in but you've kept doing the hard work". Who doesn't like a young player with real ambition to get in the seniors?

Totally agree. The scratch matches this year showed he has so much class and moves so fluently. Could be a superstar in multiple positions.

Big opportunity for Nick. Personally in time I think he will be similar to English.
It seems to me English has found his role primarily as a forward target who can also do a stint as a (second) ruck man. Perhaps lacking the body to be No 1 ruck. Is this what you see as a path for Nick?

Well he might well have the hair for it

You're talking about Jon, right?

May's well book him for a semi-regular spot on Blankety Blanks.

I see that Draper will be the number 1 ruck so yes. Bryan to be number 2 and play forward. If Wright holds his form we be the land of the Giants.

Well turn the page was one of his hits so that is appropriate for what is going on now.

Haven't quite seen enough of a contested marking or forward game yet, as he hasnt played there, and it may never manifest as a KPP but I think Bryan's probably got a natural level of raw ability that could be in Daniher's league.

He moves and handles the ball like a 180cm player - so fluid.

He’s potentially an upgrade on even the Grundy style ruck “midfielder” who is useful around the ground.. he will make Grundy look cumbersome I reckon.

There was a time a few years back when ruckmen were getting 4 possessions and calling it a good day’s work. Those days are gone and Bryan is the man for these times.

Careful now. You might end up in whatever their equivalent of Delusional Pearlers is.

Was thinking there are a few guys like Nick Bryan in the league now. Ryder was perhaps the first one I can remember dominating (Dean Cox for all his glory was cumbersome too, Paddy could genuinely play ruck rover).
