Well the journo who broke the story (Xander) said on SEN this morning that the police haven't been involved.
This, plus the proposed meeting for earlier today being reported means that someone at the AFL was talking, which is shockingly unethical. Even if the accuser approached the journo, who then approached the AFL for confirmation, the AFL should have told him nothing and to hold off on any reporting until they had investigated properly. If there is nothing in this, then Thomas is now tarred as a miscreant anyway. If there is something in it then it needs to go to the police, at which point the AFL can advise the AFL media that there is an official police investigation underway into the behaviour.

Here’s a conspiracy theory, someone’s handed the nepo baby a story knowing he’d run with it before checking facts..
nice way to burn someone’s career.
First time I've seen this kid's name pop up. I'm sure he's just as lovely as his old man.

Brasseye would be proud of how many posters are pre-emptively condemning Tarryn, just in case people might've otherwise assumed they were pro domestic violence.
Until these posters meet him and have a conversation in person they might not see him as a person but instead an important name on our list who causes trouble for the club.

Sadly I too would be guilty until I got the chance to see first hand how welcoming he was to supporters, despite being at a basketball game with multiple people stopping him on a trip to get drinks.

If you care at all about the club you'd hope for the best, for our sake as supporters and for his as a person who can make people's weeks with one of his friendly chats.

Outrageous slur to call him a nepo baby.

Just because he was only 19 years old when he got a job at the place his father was one of the stars of the network for 30 years and without ever having studied journalism, it doesn't mean he didn't totes get the job on merit....

Here is the process for AFL Complaints.
PROCESS The process for the management of complaints is laid out below, and mandates:
All complaints must be notified to the AFL Head of Integrity.
All complainants must be offered an AFL approved external support service.
The AFL Head of Integrity makes the decision as to the investigation process (triage.)
The AFL Head of Integrity may instigate an investigation without knowledge of a Club or personnel involved.
During a police investigation, only the AFL Head of Integrity or nominee of the AFL Head of Integrity and the alleged perpetrator (and any representative of them) may be in contact with the relevant police.

The AFL Head of Integrity can take action at its own initiative where it believes there has been conduct that breaches the terms of the R and R policy and where there is an absence of a complaint.

Sorry about the formatting

Sorry you’re right, kids probably been focusing his whole life around landing a job in an ultra competitive industry of sports journalism.
Would’ve got there regardless of his last name.

So the club has a duty of care ( morally ) should TT be given the arse, so will be interesting watching how this is handled.
he didn't have a great upbringing, and I'm not trying to make excuses, but sometimes these things aren't as black n white as some think it should be.

I recall a young fella the Blues drafted against his families wishes. That ended the worst possible way.

Of course TT should be given leeway here, especially if he is doing all the steps required, progress isn’t a linear pathway and everyone deserves opportunity to be better. If he was giving the middle finger to the support or kept parting etc, might be a different story but it ain’t.

It’s ****ed that’s it’s playing out in the media.

And yes the club does have a moral obligation here, so does the afl and the afl media, it’s been in his life longer then any school. Especially across his formative years.

Being a phaurqwit is not yet illegal, there's also no evidence he's ever hit anyone either.

Who said doing anything illegal?

I also don't think you need to draw the line at beating woman to qualify as a phauqwit.

He's not getting a please explain from AFL HQ for nothing.

At a minimum, he's once again proven he has the IQ of a turnip by sending threatening text messages.

What is this sorry?

Because someone has a persona in public doesn't mean they can't be a crummy individual behind closed doors?

Stop the presses, Tarryn was friendly to a supporter once in public, so none of this can possibly be true.

He should be renamed Teflon Tarryn on this board.

He's barely put a foot right at the club in 6 years, between poor training standards, the club having to baby sit him in offseasons, going completely tools down 2 seasons ago for half a season under Noble, presenting in ridiculous shape in day 1 of preseason last year, a year long court case and multiple behavioral courses/suspensions/relapses/suspensions/courses. In between all of it has been multiple injuries with all the while further contributing to his woeful fitness levels.

Now another offseason sandal twelve months later....

I don't really give a rats toss bag about this particular scandal, he is on the thinnest of thin ice. He OWES this club, the supporters, the coaches and his team mates an absolute shitload of sustained performance (years, not a 12 week block where he's interested or it's a contract year). Any more of this crap with him, no matter how minor, is just unacceptable given where he is 6 years into the amount we invested in him and given how much ground he needs to make up.

The 20 odd games in 6 seasons he's actually played at an elite level certainly seems worth it at this point......AND he might still hang the club out to dry contractually at the end of the year, as despite all this support, all the time, all the crap we have waited for with him to deliver.... he has tested the waters via his manager multiple times in the last 18 months.

Well, the Herald Sun seems to be doubling down on the DV angle.

Sorry, I don't have access to the full article.
The headline makes it sound like he just didn't turn up, instead of it being deferred because his lawyer wasn't available today.

Yea this argument is pretty irrefutable. He's been a right headache for the club on a multitude of occasions now. If I'm Todd viney I'm shaking my head in utter disbelief that he's again behaved in a way that another party has deemed worthy of reporting. Even if it's been exaggerated, he obviously hasn't just been sending gifs of puppies and rainbows.

At any rate, this will clear itself up. If there's lots of truth to it, he never plays for the club again, and hopefully never plays AFL again. If it's a storm in a teacup, he stays, he plays the year well, and imo likely leaves, which relieves us of the baggage. Best case scenario of two brownlows and a norm smith for north hasn't changed but it's getting less and less likely. And I'm ok with that at this point. This shit's getting too tiring to tolerate any longer

Time sure does fly. Next year he'll turn 25 and already be at the halfway point of his career (assuming he plays to 31-32) if he is still here. Assuming this last revelation is nothing and gets thrown out, he really needs to tap into his potential soon.
