And there we have it…looking in hindsight according to Ralphy we probably should have offloaded to clubs in trade…I love how he says clubs including Essendon inquired….which makes me think it’s total bs and dons were the only one… but now because we held onto him we are stuffed …and have bugger all hope of anything if we hang on and look at a trade this year….

But if we did do the rumoured trade with * you can guarantee that we’d probably be paying a significant part of the contract ….and the media would be taking pot shots at our inability to look after said player or how well * screwed us to pay up…despite what we have done….

but low and behold this was the bit that caught my eye…. AFL CLUBS have always been seduced by talent and no doubt one will present to give him another chance in 2025…..( on a bargain basement wage too l bet…with media lauding how wise they are with spending less then the wasteful Roos and how awesome they are backing in their club culture..) 🤬

makes me want to throw a typewriter at the wall with this small snippet …..couldn’t give a rats about the many hours / resources/ necks on the line that our club has expended….just roll up and sign and back in your culture.

We‘re damed if we do or don’t……the fact he’s placed that in his article encouraging a club to pick him up if we part ways is infuriating…..and to top it off the nuff nuffs on x are already spouting garbage about other club cultures compared to ours…conveniently ignoring what we have done…….🤬

As the saying goes when it rains it pours…..regardless of what the club has done ….sigh…..

I wouldn’t be getting rid of him. Anyone wants him, he’s worth a top 5 pick or he can go into the draft or psd. Or he stays in the blue n white. Call their bluff, nothing to lose.

Do you really think because you personally haven’t seen any evidence that there is no evidence, even though it’s the worlds worst kept secret the AFL have seen enough to pretty much consign his career to a trash can?

Regardless, nobody is pulling you up on your blind faith in Tarryn’s innocence. All that was said is sexist bullshit posting won’t be tolerated on this forum and you decided to keep arguing what was essentially a blanket post.
Whilst I do not agree with the excuses or whataboutery posted, I think it is fair to say that the lack of integrity shown by the AFL over the last few decades has led to many people, potentially a majority, not having faith in the AFL. It does not surprise me that some want to see iron clad proof before being comfortable with the AFL's decision making process or integrity if you like.

If it came to that, I wouldn't be surprised if the woman involved could get a suppression order on her identity.

(and rightly so - if the dispute is essentially contractual between the AFL and TT, I'm not sure why the world needs to hear her testimony on the stand)

It would be interesting to see what position the AFLPA takes though.
Need a criminal or civil lawyer for that on how she can remain anonymous but it always seems in high profile cases to get released anyway 🤷‍♂️

Precedent not set last year. Dont care. Sexual assault is all good? Is it?

Sexual assault. Thats criminal and charges.

Free to play.
You are right in a way, but probably as a result, that’s kinda why it’s taking so long, they want to set a precedence now, they want it early enough that they can point to him not playing as an example of them taking an active position on this…
Just need to see what the charges are, what has been decided, would be plenty of discussions within NMFC on what is best for north and Tarryn

Don't worry about pundits trying to confect conflict and outrage mate.

I reckon Sonja, Todd and Jenn have made the right decisions with TT, and whatever they decide to do next will probably be sound too.

There's more important things in the world than trade capital and there's not much point getting angry at things that might happen in the future.

I hope Tarryn finds a way to work out who he is and makes a decent bloke out of himself somehow.

Personally, I don't really care what Taz does in the future if he's not playing for NMFC. What benefit is it to me if he becomes a decent bloke? I just want NMFC to win games of football. End of story. Period.

He’s a top 5 pick every day of the ******* week. You’ll cry if he ends up at Sydney for free. Give you the hot tip
Figure, if it does happen

1) he won’t play AFL in 2025
2) he won’t be on $750k when he does come back
3) they won’t see the best of TT

No, I am right. Not right in an obscure way. The AFL’s time to make a decision was on a case of sexual assault on a top tier player in a top tier team. They didn’t, they let him play. Thats it.

I have no idea what the club will do…just peeved at Ralph’s green light for other clubs to roll up and sign next year if they did part ways… l can see the media also campaigning / setting a bargain low pick for whatever club that approaches us if we decide to trade..,ala BBB…yes there will be clubs who will come calling but they won’t be giving up huge draft capital regardless of his talent value l fear.
If he stays in blue and white …as one poster alluded to guarantee there will be a narrative that we’re backing in a player with x history after how many chances….
club is in a shite position through no fault of their own….and have a looming decision to make.

After years of posting freaky consciousness-expanding soliloquies, all of a sudden you're lucid? What gives?

Most respectful and thought out response …appreciate it …I’ll back what decisions Sonja, Todd and Jen make…
lm good …just hate journos et all taking vailed shots at our club / supporter base without considering what has actually been put in place. Cheers 🍻

It's not that I have any choice, but I'm happy to trust the judgement of Sonja, Todd and Jenn.

At the same time, I curse the inconsistencies of the AFL and don't understand how someone like Pickett is suffering no repercussions.

And that’s why this is taking so long, lol, they are obviously getting together the information and ensuring their backsides are covered lol
Just confirming, which player are you referring to?

from memory, he is out of contract this year, no club in their right mind would select him with the baggage of being delisted after this, plus even then, I doubt the AFL would sign off if they think he’s done something worthy of that long away, from memory Cousins had to take a year off and return via a rookie pick

If/when he's found guilty, Pickett will get repercussions. Its just there's a court process going on, and the AFL integrity unit can't presuppose what the outcome will be.

In TT's case, there was obviously no court case for the integrity unit to worry about, so it did its own investigation.

Hopefully we get some clarity on what it found over the next day or so.

It’s going to be interesting though, I do hope he spends time looking at himself, what he’s done, how he has behaved and become a better person for it
Edit: ( DuckYeah in response to your last one ☝️ )
I honestly think that’s half his problem, spends too much time looking at himself, unfortunately what he sees is not what everyone else sees. He’s living in a fantasy land that’s fast destroying him.

Then he’ll be on our list in 2025

All assuming the media has been fed something resembling truthful investigative results:

He's damaged goods, he's 23 not 19 (which is still not quite peak career but its not football-young), with injuries added to his off-field problems, he's no longer a top 5 pick. And his contract is up this year.
He's not going to attract more than a third round pick or something after not playing for a year - or maybe a couple of games unfit at the end - in addition to everything else.

He's more talented than that, but a bloody big risk in more ways than one that nobody will give up much for.
Collingwood or Essendon might get him, knowing the AFL will sweep anything more that comes up under the carpet for big clubs.

Maybe the best thing is the club suspends him for any of this year that the leagues doesn't. That we he's on the list for a low-ball trade rather than getting picked in the second round of the misnamed rookie draft.
Low-ball is better than nothing, and its hard to see how he stays at North. And frankly, if the reports are accurate and he did what was accused, I almost hope the players don't want him around.
