Surprised that at this stage he hasn’t found a club. At least not officially.
Perhaps one of those rare moments where human virtue is actually prevailing. All 18 clubs have AFLW teams now. It would be an enormous slap in the face to them if a team were to pick him up. I'm not saying it'd be any less morally dubious if a team that picked him up hypothetically didn't have an AFLW team, but with the establishment of the AFLW arm for each club, women have been woven into club fabrics. Beyond canteen ladies, fan clubs, and cake makers.

I'm too cynical to say that TT won't get picked up, but he's as close to a poisoned chalice as you're ever going to get in someone with that level of talent (a level which I think is that of a potential top 5 player in the league, if not top 2), especially with the outcry that's already occurred from fans of clubs who've merely hinted at interest in him

I couldn't give a **** if he goes somewhere else and succeeds. My understanding is that we gave him multiple chances to change his behaviour and at a certain point you have to say sorry, no more chances. That's as close to traditional values and personal responsibility as you can get, but the angry old man contingent wants to twist it into being woke or something? I'm glad the club didn't um and ah about it because he's so talented and we're scared of missing out on a good footballer, you can't let players push you around. Same reason I'm glad we offloaded JHF while we could still get a high price for him.

Even if you put the morality and legality of his actions aside, he repeatedly broke the trust of everyone at the club over a period of multiple years all while umming and ahhing about going to a different club. Matthew Lloyd once talked about 'drainers', players that take up 10 times as much of the coaches and admins time than anyone else (time that could be far better used!), that drag down the morale of the group, that can cause splinters in the group, and just in general drain the club. TT is as talented as anyone, but he was a drainer, a recidivist harasser of women, and even still we gave him chance after chance after chance (even while half the football public was saying that any other club would have dropped him by then) and each time he said one thing to our face then did the opposite. Then he lost his job, and while doing the mandatory courses to get back his multimillion dollar job he was still a complete deranged prick.

FFS it wasn't like there was a single isolated incident that was following him around, it was a massive pattern of behaviour despite everyone's attempts at intervention!

He had to go. It's insane this is needing to be re-litigated.

Brilliant post.

JHF was also a classic drainer.

Geelong and Essendon were keen, and the AFL had to step in and say that he will not be allowed to play this year.

Unfortunately it has nothing to do with morality.

The AFL has said he’s not allowed to play this year after a couple of clubs were sniffing around.

I knew he wouldn’t get an AFl contract, but I’m surprised he hasn’t been announced by a state league side. But as mentioned above even some of those clubs wouldn’t be keen with their women’s programs and sponsorship arrangements.

Imo if he’s even the slightest chance of getting back into the system he’ll have to,

1. Correct his mindset towards women, and truely understand that his behaviour is wrong. That’s his biggest hurdle, because from the outside looking in, it seems to me that he still thinks he’s the victim. “Yeah but she did this”…not acceptable.

2. Play local football and maintain a high standard of fitness and discipline.

He does that, and maybe he can earn his way back into the system by 2027.
