Justin McInerney
Sydney Swans youngster Justin McInerney is lightning-quick, an endurance machine and a clean user of the footy who’s best used on a wing or at half-back. The Northern Knights product was called up for his AFL debut against Melbourne at the SCG in Round 4, 2019, and although he wouldn’t feature at the top level again in his first year at the club, he was a stand-out in the NEAFL. McInerney is eyeing more opportunities at senior level in 2020.

Justin McInerney
DOB: 18 August 2000
DEBUT: 2019
DRAFT: #44, 2018 National Draft
RECRUITED FROM: Banyule (Vic)/Marcellin College (Vic)/Northern U18

He's one of the players who I would feel comfortable as stepping into the gap if Warner/Heeney were tagged out of a game, his run and kicking ability are hugely important to how we go about it.

Rampe is a bit like Gilchrist. He broke the mould of keeper/batsman.
Rampe has broken the mould of 3rd tall/goal keeper. He has been undersized and played on every key tall known. He has scrambled against the best smalls. You need pace to scramble in defense and go with the smalls on occaision.
Sorry, this is of the McInerney topic but I'm responding to where the post was made.

Rampe's been great, but I dispute that he broke the mould. His attributes are very similar to those of Craig Bolton, while for ages we also had Leapin' Leo playing as fullback (as well as a Blakey-style rebounder and with the speed to play on smalls if needed).

There are probably many more from other clubs who've done similarly, if I could be bothered to scan my memory for their names. Dale Morris is one that does spring to mind easily. A tiny bit taller than Ramps but still short of the nominal height for a key defender. Dylan Grimes at Richmond is taller still, but not quite the ideal height for a key defender nowadays, yet he's played that role successfully while also being able to play on smaller players.

This guy is just low key tearing it up this year, completely going under the radar of the opposition. Watching him burst away with speed through the middle with only a few minutes left is a testament to both his endurance and explosive power. Stick him anywhere and he'll fix the problem.
His speed basically closed the book on the game for us!

Yep Gulden Warner and Heeney are like the beatles, Rowbottom is Ringo, but Jmac drives the bus around at least

Even though he doesn't get it as much as some players, good things just happen when he's around it. Whether he's dropping back to help in defence, or taking the footy into attack, he just makes things better. He's a bit Kennelly-like in that respect. Not big numbers but impact-per-touch is right up there.

Absolutely gone to another level this year and no one has noticed. He's improved his break away power and has quickly become a valuable line breaker for us. Whilst he still makes mistakes, his composure has been terrific. Awesome season

in the last minute, mcinerney still running full tilt, didn't simply "find" papley with that 40m pass across his body, he put the ball to the only place papley could lead to it ... it was gulden-esque
mcinerney might be the most underrated player in the league outside the swans community, and even inside it in some cases
he's quick, skilful, a relentless tackler, and much stronger and tougher than he looks

Yes because we dont exactly have a like to like replacement.

Campbell maybe?
Not exactly a like for like but in terms of versatility Mills could be that player. Can play inside, outside, back. Not sure about his nous as a forward though.
