I'd love to get him in the side but who does he come in for? Presumably McGrath will replace Clarke. Dea or Guelfi maybe?
Maybe Dea but not sure I'd want to do that given that Redman can't defend as well as Dea can. Could potentially come in for Goddard if we decide he needs a rest, although the bye is coming up

I risk falling into the trap of overrating Redman based on two games but he could hardly have been more impressive in the last two VFL games he has played. He's played the games I hoped he would play.

He looks quicker and he's certainly running harder for longer, his ball use has been excellent, he's been taking contested marks, busting the ball out of stoppages, running players down, doing basically everything you could want him to do.

Admittedly I don't think that he'll immediately translate the same physical presence, he's still only 20-21, but he's aggressive and he'll have no problem translating his outside game because of his running power and the quality of his kicking.

Once he gets in, and it should be this week unless he is injured, that'll be it. He'll be best 22 and there will be no looking back.

There might be a chance that they're holding him back a few weeks to give him extra midfield time before bringing him in. I can live with that especially because we need another running defender who we can rotate into the middle of the ground.

Does he hit the scoreboard? Is he Stants 2.0?

Should come straight in for Zaka... Woosha will definitely pick Myers if heā€™s fit instead though.

Itā€™s time to blood the backline of our future, Redman, Francis, Ridley, Saad, Mcgrath. And id use McGrath in a similar vein to how GWS are using Whitfield. Use his dash and excellent disposal as weapons.

These 5, plus Hurley/Hooker/Gleeson while we develop Zerk in the twos... we are in good shape. Keep Connor on the wing I think, heā€™s a damaging point of difference.

Where can I watch this?

Essendon Football club youtube channel.

And if anyone re-watches the Geelong game, be kind. I did overrate Redman's performance in the third quarter. It was a good performance, and he was better in the fourth than I initially said, but I've described some of his midfield work in that third quarter as Judd-like and two of the examples were a clean break away (nothing particularly impressive about that) and the third example I remembered was Nick Hind.

Be kind, Nick Hind?

He looks the goods Bruno. I am onboard the Redman train too. Surely you heard the thwack last week when he threw the ball into his opponents face as hard as he could? It was awesome.

Good chance he will be at another club next year. Other clubs circling and he is getting no opportunities

Absolutely ridiculous he hasnt played yet eith guys like Goddard and Dea getting a game.
We seriously are one of the worst clubs in the league when it comes to plauinb and developing draft picks. Which is Ironic seeing how often the club talks about going and developing the roster through the draft

With zaka out he should be a like for like replacement.
Hopefully if they can give him 5-6 games this year he might feel inclined to stay.

I'm a big believer with young players debuting that you do the following where you can
1) pick them when they are in really good form
2) pick them where they can play a role that eases them in and gives them an opportunity to do well.
I think redman is Cherry ripe and Brisbane is suitable opposition.
Could be the start of a brilliant career.
