Saad kept him goalless last year
The game where we spanked them but feel like Iā€™ve seen Cameron get hold of him before...canā€™t think when. Regardless, not sure how much better he would have done tonight.

I get why they went with Redman, thatā€™s all Iā€™m saying really.

Only hadmultiple goals against GC twice whilst Saad wasn't with us, 4 goals (Saad didn't play) and 2 goals (Saad did play but no idea if he was on him)

Playing the most out of form defender in the competition on the most dangerous small forward in the competition, what could possibly go wrong?

Was absolute cowardice from the selection panel. Didnā€™t want Saad to get beaten and also lose the run, so they let someone tag him and offer no run any way.

I'm not sure if I should be surprised that people are jumping off.

No way am I jumping off any time soon.

Something is clearly up. He's not covering the ground well. That doesn't explain everything but I don't think he'd be playing at the moment if we had our way.

I'm surprised at the extent he has fall away but it's a bump in the road.

It says how highly he is thought of given that we started him of Stephenson and Cameron.

It will turn.

Thought his defensive game tonight was the best so far this season. Saw him on Ainsworth on a few occassions and Ainsworth had little influence all night. Also was a good disposal game apart from one or two bad ones but this is his go, play on the secondary or tertiary small and rebound.

Yeah, seems to be running on top of the ground again too. He's looked much better in the last few weeks.

Something weird about his kicks. He looks like he's going to hit targets again. There was a time he got the ball in his hands and you could see the turn over coming. There was almost an apprehension about the way he was kicking it.

Has looked critically low on confidence this year and at times last night his disposal was very spotty. But you dont just lose talent overnight.

Whether that is form driven or he is carrying something (there were reports he barely trained in the weeks between the sydney-carlton-collingwood games), i am not sure. Has gone from arguably our safest kick out of defence to incredibly shaky.

The hard thing is that there is no legitimate reserve grade to get his confidence back and the scratchies are glorified training runs. I would stick with him and let him ride it out, maybe even free him up to attack and let him take Cutlers spot on the wing and be released up the field where your errors arent as magnified.

He missed most of the offseason and preseason lead up with a foot injury so came into the season seriously undercooked - and it shows. The season postponement then did him no favours at all.

I still think heā€™s better served and would be considerably more impactful playing on a wing.

So sad to see the way he has played this year after last year. Fumbles everything looks shot. That effort when he got done holding the ball looked like a player who didnā€™t want to be there.

Played great tonight!!
Goes for contested marks, chases even when others stand around, if it's a fumble at least he made a contest.
Half our midfield just look for easy outside handballs and stats.
Irons out the fumbles and he's a star.

Yeah he doesnā€™t want to be there yet had many great defensive efforts. Almost had 20% of the entire teams tackle count.
