This bloke is no good.

Has played every game this year and never looked like tearing it up, doing any real damage to an oppo team etc.

Just vanilla handballs with occasional decent tackles etc.

Boggles my mind that Cumberland has been in and out of the team but this bloke played every game.
This is based on nothing but my perception but I would like to swap Dow and Cumberland at centre bounces. I would like to see Cumberland’s energy at the bounce of the ball and I would like to see if Dow could operate effectively in the congestion of the forward line. I think that both have the good skill sets but are not suited to succeed in their current roles so if we don’t change their role they will inevitably fail

If he handles women like he handles a footy I don't think we've got anything to worry about....:$
Won’t have any trouble getting hold of them. Some of the best hands in the comp. Never seen him fumble. 23 blokes as clean as Thomson would be an unbeatable team.

Only made one point: good hands. Never fumbles.

Are you disputing that?

Ah yes. But if we had 23 other blokes who only had good hands but couldn’t display any other skill set to play the game, you would be wrong in your assessment of being unbeatable.

How would we kick the ball?

Ah yeah. I am a Dow defender, but my first thought was 23 Dow's, how do we move the ball? :D

One Dow is good, more maybe not so good.

Prestia rumours are strong he’s retiring and we need to be realistic as he’s injury prone and really a liability now. If He’s constantly injured it means Dow gets a gig so I would prefer a draftee coming in.
I’m not too fussed with Baker whether he stays or goes.

Thompson Dow is rapidly improving remember this is his first time playing consistent afl
He’s going to have a big future just watch this space

We should try anything at this stage. Otherwise they're both getting the ass at years end.

Everyone brings their own level of skill and their particular characteristics but if everybody had good hands and didn’t fumble in pressure situations like big finals and Grand Finals the team would go a long way.

Too many GFs are decided in the first quarter because a team can’t get control of the footy. Nervous fumbly players are a liability on the big stage whereas it’s a godsend if you have guys who focus on the next play and executing, rather than being overwhelmed by the occasion. You regularly see it in run of the mill H&A games as well.

Great hands are severely under valued.

Comprehension not strong here. It’s not like you had to wade through War and Peace, it was only one sentence to try and understand.

I never said “23 Dows”.

But I did say “23 blokes as clean as Thomson”

Sorry if you struggle with the distinction.

Dow clearly does have clean hands. Anyone arguing otherwise has extraordinarily high expectations on what clean hands means

Dusty, Cotch and Edwards all would have a fumble here or there when in a contested situation

Must be a Collingwood thing, Nathan Buckley mentioned much the same last game in the commentary.
I'm sitting on the fence just yet, although AFL_expert678 is quite an endorsement (Buckley is okay as well).
