Sorry to repost but mega keen!!

I'm a massive newbie and would absolutely LOVE an invite to download that doco (I missed it cos of douchebags stuffing up at work!!)

I know it repeats on Saturday but that's yonks away.

I'm in a generous mood, invite has been sent :)

Please also a reminder to all who download, please re-seed!

Gold from Scarlo. The man is ruthless. A big part of what makes him one of the greatest of all time. :thumbsu:

Also loved his story about how that squib Didak was telling him how he was a black belt in karate when they were matched up in the first quarter. Good to know he's good at something, cause it sure aint AFL. Just confirmed what we all know, that hes one of the biggest douchebags in the league.

Kudos though to Malthouse, Obrien, Maxwell and Dawes. Must take alot of guts to be part of something like that and so soon after also.

Agreed, although to be honest I thought Dawes spoke the best by far.
I didn't buy the bit about how important the last speech is, ultimately you need a team good enough that knows their job and have the ability to deliver under pressure. We did - they didn't.

Although I don't rate dawes, I thought he displayed more desire and gut running till the end than most of his team-mates. When he had that shot in the last quarter that might just have given his side a sniff of a win, none of his team-mates could be bothered to make a contest of it if he didn't convert. I thought that was pretty deplorable in a Grand Final - the maggies didn't deserve a win.

Just on MM's pre-match speech, I thought it was a bit of ramble. If I was a player in that room I probably would have drifted off and started thinking about cauliflower cheese :)

agreed 100%... i didnt hear a scrap of emotion in it.

it had nothing on clarksons pre-game speech '08. the 'killing the shark' one. heard it a few months after the game, and even though it was painful to hear, 'twas a good un.

would love to have heard scott pre-game. or even better, 3/4 time.

Hi,

A bunch of my mates told me there was footage of me in the crowd from during the game, and I would love to have a look at it. I don't fancy buying the DVD to keep, I don't want to relive such a sad day more than once.
I see there's a torrent of it going around, any chance i could get the link? My email is johnnybones5@hotmail.com

I would appreciate anyone who would like to help :):thumbsu:

Wonder if it will have any extras or outtakes etc
Edit: According to the cover there is some bonus footage, lets hope its of the pies players crying.

I've just purchased some invites if any of you guys want one, send me a message if you need one.

Just finished watching it. Enjoyed the extra footage etc but thought it was a bit meh overall...there weren't any great insights and I don't think they did a great job of conveying how the game shifted back and forward. Biggest thing I took out of it was a new understanding of how terrible James Brayshaw is - pity they couldn't use the ABC call.

Just watched it and it's fantastic to re-live one of the greatest days in my 32 years, but couldn't help but feel the whole way through that the AFL really need to take a look at how NFL Films does it. Capturing the sounds of the game with ground level footage is the way to go.

Agreed. There are no excuses with all the superdooper cameras they have available now. I mean the AFL just got a billion dollars you can't tell me there isn't some spare cash to sink into documenting our great game.

America have always been number one for their docos on sports. For me..the greatest ever sporting doco was the old Michael Jordan Air time, the music, the insights, the rare footage which is hardly ever seen, it's pure genius.

I honestly don't feel as though the creativity is as highly sought after as it would be in the states which in turn causes quite a few of our sporting videos to be slightly dull and fails to inspire like the American sporting documentaries do.
I mean they can turn an average player into a superstar by the ending of the feature by simply having the right script and elements added.

There have been some independent classics though and a few awesome ones produced by the visual entertainment group but there is a larger quantity of documentaries that are made quickly and rather poorly which are mainly intended to generate the all mighty buck first and foremost.

It's the same with the name a game DVDs. I bought a few several years ago hoping for pregame stuff Inc interviews and commentary views, half time with a "half time wrap up" and post game song/interviews/review. You don't get any of it

Agreed, and they didn't come anywhere near capturing how much impact Hawkins had in the second half. Those four contested marks at the start of the last quarter completely destroyed Reid's confidence, they should have mentioned that. Plus shown his other marks - as he took some good ones in the first half too.

Yeah Brayshaw is just appalling.

hey if someone could email me the details for the torrent would be much appreciated!! I am an Aussie living in Canada trying to follow the footy and am desperate to see this. my email is jake@lmh.com.au thanks

I don't think one hour is long enough to do that sort of stuff. Would've liked it to be at least 30 minutes longer.

Also agree that American docos leave Aussie ones for dead.

Anyone know if they will replay it on tv in the near future?

I think somebody posted that it is being replayed again on Saturday.
