We all get frustrated with him at times, due to his disposal, but to beat Hill like that today was extraordinary. Hill is a jet and Brady had 39, while Hill had six.
Talking on the broadcast after the game, Brady said he knew he couldn't match Hill for pace, so he studied the videos of Hill at length during the week to find other ways to blanket him.
Possibly his best ever game.

I'd love to have been watching the tapes with Rawlings and listen to him comment about how he planned to stop Hill. Our young blokes are very lucky to have him to learn off how to break tags and nullify their opponents.

Future coach is Brady.

Take a bow Brady Rawlings.

Rawlings: 39 possessions

Hill: 7 possessions

Has there been a greater hiding in modern football?

Leave him in the middle.

Brady absolutely dominated yesterday. He's had a great season - very consistent.

There are times when his disposal has been questionable but yesterday wasn't one of those days. He laid off some beautiful bullet passes that hit their targets.

Top game Brady.

When he plays like yesterday he looks AA.

Yes, he is fantastic when he runs forward and takes the game on. Sadly, he quite often plays negatively, goes sideways or backwards a lot and puts his team mates under a lot of pressure.

It would be fantastic if he played like he did this week every week but it is unlikely he will play like this next week, he just doesn't do it consistently.

Some of the Rawlings haters on this board didn't give him a vote for his game yesterday. Perhaps if he had got 49 possessions and kept Hill to 3 they might have given him one vote! But seriously, they are really showing their ignorance of what AFL football is all about. No doubt they think they know more than Leigh Matthews, who said on radio yesterday that "Rawlings and Firrito are two players I would want on my team".

I rate that as Rawlings' best game for NMFC for 2-3 years. To smash Hill the way he did & rack up 35+ quality possessions was great. Needs to be given a role each week rather than this rubbish notion of having him as a loose goose in defence.

This...+1 :thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

Apparently Bon rated it the best run with role he can recall, and the stats guy on MMM said that it was the greatest discrepency in a head to head match up since such stats have been taken. And people couldn't give him a vote??????????

We don't need any votes from the so called experts. Who are the experts?
Losers from other clubs.
Clubs that haven't tasted premierships in living memory.
I don't want their their votes. I only look forward to Jillian or Dimwit
handing over the premiership cup to Boomer or Spitter or Bastinac or Ziebell.
And the article from Cowro saying Bitchmond were gallant in defeat, and the other mob were lucky.

Interesting to hear micro brain Tony Shaw give a big push for Rawlings to be All Australian this year. Argued it wouuld be a travesty if he was ignored for the back pocket. Nice to hear someone (even him) stick up for a NMFC player.

So what you all - Rawlings a chance? Who else?

Rawlings back pocket yes.

Firrito would be pushing for selection, has he done enough?

Swallow, maybe too much competition for midfield spots.

Throwing Goldstein up there as a wild card. Unlikely but hey.

We'd be lucky to get one of those in finishing 9th

Swallow, more tackles than anyone in the entire league this year. Has to be at least considered. Same with Brady, been fantastic in the backline all year.

One (hey, maybe even both) should make it, but they probably won't. Being North Melbourne and finishing 9th will make them easy to overlook.

His name got a few mentions on Triple M's pre game show last night when they were discussing AA and not only from JB. Would be great to see him in there.

Can't think of too many other back pocket players averaging almost 28 P's a game this year. His best games this year have come against the better opposition too.

Healy talking up Brady as well on the game preview at Skilled stadium today some very good comments about he cant be overlooked etc.
I think all goes well and rightly so.
Brady cops a lot of stick around here for his disposal but the fact is he is in the upper echeclon of effective disposal %. That can be misleading l appreciate that but the last time l looked he was over 80% effective. Only a few others at the club are better and they all play in defence l understand its hard to stuff up your % chipping around in defence but its also the hardest place to have effective disposal against the teams that press hard and are high on tackles in their forward 50.
Good on you Brady ripper year under appreciated and l for one admire you for all your efforts and hope you get recognised with an AA jumper.
