i think it's harsh but at the same time i don't think it's unfounded.I think Gerard is being a little harsh.
He is being harsh, but it's also a fair question - what's better for the club right now: Parish as our highest paid player for the next half a decade, or a high draft pick as compo for him leaving?I think Gerard is being a little harsh.
Or anyone you’d think. Even 5 years might be pushing it.No chance Geelong are paying that. None. Zero.![]()
He's literally been an AA before and was in a lot of people's AA teams this season before he got injured.Dp3 is a good player. Not damaging, not AA calibre.
We cannot pay overs for him. If another club wants to pay overs c u later.
No current season stats available
5How many years did Redman get
Bailey Smith?Geelong rarely pay top dollar for a recruit, and when they have, it's been for someone who is widely regarded as among the game's best (Dangerfield and Cameron).
He's not currently in the top 100 highest paid, he's still a Bulldog, and I haven't seen any reports about how much the Cats would pay him to suggest they're throwing ridiculous money at him.Bailey Smith?
I wonder whether Bailey Smith might be a better option. They look a bit slow. He's not currently in the top 100 highest paid, he's still a Bulldog, and I haven't seen any reports about how much the Cats would pay him to suggest they're throwing ridiculous money at him.
Based off their history, they would probably get him for less than the Dogs or other suitors would have to pay him because of the change in lifestyle and their proven football program. I don't think they'll be paying him anything close to the 800k+ bracket that Danger and JCam have been.

how many players get offered contracts that high, and how many actually deserve it?
I largely agree, but I think Parish is a little better than Gerard is giving him credit for.He is being harsh, but it's also a fair question - what's better for the club right now: Parish as our highest paid player for the next half a decade, or a high draft pick as compo for him leaving?

So we don't want to give Parish a big contract because he's not that good, but we need another club to give him a big contract for some reason so we can get a top 10 compo pick that Dodo/RFK will just waste, and we can improve our midfield mix by replacing Parish (an inside mid who can't kick) with Hobbs (an inside mid who can't kick, but is young).
Running out of land at Armstrong Creek. Surely Dodoro could have helped us with that.Probably a favourable land deal or two to help ease the financial shortfall they’ve incurred.
don’t think many clubs would waste money/list spots on that dickheadI wonder whether Bailey Smith might be a better option. They look a bit slow.
He can play. I'd be happy enough to see him at Essendon if it came down to it.don’t think many clubs would waste money/list spots on that dickhead

certainly wouldn’t be against it but he’s fallen off a cliff this year sans some performancesHe can play. I'd be happy enough to see him at Essendon if it came down to it.
