Find it funny how twitter is blowing up with 'we gave them pick 3'.

The alternative is he's not playing for us and North still get pick 3....I like this timeline a fair bit better.

Just don't give him the #17 guernsey

It's the part of FA I find distasteful and counter productive.

You have an imperfect but extremely functional player around which a side can plan 7 years of footy and that team can't wait to move him on for more picks.

Why is North being given drafts picks on account of its on field performance when on any measure it is weakening itself, by moving on a player that would be in any next permiership they'd be planning for, so that it can have more players that can't sensibly be expected to impact games to the level of McKay for at least 3 years?

In my defence, I was working through the thread and hadn't seen your post.
Plus, there’s far better jokes worth stealing 😉

Is he actually any good? All I've heard about him all year is how North can't wait to offload him to get pick 3.
we might've paid overs for him but realistically big defenders come at a premium and i think he'll slot into our defense nicely, especially because it'll allow ridley et al to all play the roles they're meant to instead of filling in as they've done historically.

just need to work on his kicking skills, but that's something a few players need to do

When one is 200cm and 100kg where do you find a jumper that looks like a kid in their dad’s hand me down?

Tom Hawkins closet?

Difficult to police, but something along the lines of ‘if there wasn’t a compensation selection in play, would you want to keep this player?’ would make sense to add to the rubric.

Doedee for example represents a pretty natural parting of ways for someone wanting to get to a contender and the Crows having an able replacement available in Worrell.

No way in hell North let McKay leave without the lure of high end comp. Hell, we didn’t even want Daniher to leave and we weren’t even getting high end comp.
