You're very diplomatic, Lore.

You'd play both Heppell and Kelly in seniors then? But not Hind. Is Laverde in your back 6?
We play a back 7 so I’m not gonna be picking 6 😝

And it’s not so much diplomacy as the fact that all seven of the guys I named have played every game they’ve been available to play, whereas Hind is on ~70% or 16/23 (12 full games, 4 more as sub).

Baldwin, Reid, Cox… they’re the future but they’re not the core of a premiership contending back six or seven Round 1, 2024.

Could Martin play back and Dursma wing if we land him?

I am thinking of a Coleman (lions) type role. He has that ability to slice kicks through the midfield like Coleman IMO.

I’d prefer Durham down back and Martin on the wing, he’s so damaging forward of centre and hits the scoreboard.

At Essendon that's a free kick... against both.

would sabotage a lot of our forward momentum i'd wager. as others have said he's good on the scoreboard so that'll also be missed for us

Will Ben McKay play against his brother Harry this year? They are still yet to play against eachother.

Great to see Better Brother Ben arrive at the Hangar.

I for one welcome our full back overlord.

Such a huge signing.

We haven't had a "wall" since Cale Hooker.

Will release fellow defenders, and give players further up the ground relief and confidence.

If only BZT would stay as a 2nd tall 😔

I was thinking the same thing. I would love BZT to take the next tall. His desperation was second to none. Then with Ridley and Redman intercepting it would be a great defensive team.

That moment that rabid big footy fans realise that they had two bomber supporters playing for them!!

Now to prise another one away from the Roos in a few years. (Warlord.)

I swear arriving at any club after playing for North Melbourne must be a weight lifted.

I mean, Essendon are SHIT - but arriving here must feel like waking up from a bad dream.

Think about it - your career is spent in this sort of unhinged reality where you run on to the ground, you have an AFL logo on your chest, but you’re not REALLY in the league.

Others are trying to build lists, play finals, win flags etc; whilst you are listening to your club beg for priority picks and pretend like they’re a part of something that they’re really not.

I mean for Christ sake with Tassie coming in, we’re talking about 20 teams - here’s a better idea, stick with 18 and piss North off - the league would literally, LITERALLY not lose a cent in revenue, and would sure as shit lose some costs.

To McKay, he would’ve woken up the next day thinking, “holy shit, I’m actually an AFL player”.

I’m an Essendon supporter for god sake, and even I know North Melbourne are a joke.

^^This

Changes everything. Repelling opposition attack through intercept wins games in modern footy.

So if Reid gets himself right. How do we see this pairing along with Ridley going?

Like if we look at a team like Collingwood, who takes who and what is their main roles?

McKay probably plays deepest on the biggest forward, Reid takes the next tall and/or resting ruckman, Ridley plays on a medium / tall type. All 3 are good intercept players so should be smart enough to know when to come across and support their teammates.
