AFLW 2024 - Round 9 - Indigenous Round - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
Correct - will be in the first week of November. So we haven’t actually signed him yet?
Pink will better then BonarSo we haven’t actually signed him yet?
This is why you don’t draft a team of midfielders
Reported earlier that Haynes is likely to stay at GWS unfortunately.Bringing in guys Pink and maybe Ethan Phillips are the sort of moves we should be making. If we can land Haynes as well, it gives some degree of depth along with Corr and Dawson. Gives us some cover until Logue gets back in June or July.
Still need to take a KPD in the draft. But having guys like Pink on the list who can play from day 1, gives our pick time to develop.
Sam Collins is a great example. Not AA, but has been really solid after being delisted by Freo and working his a*** off at VFL level.A reminder that Scott Thompson, Tom Stewart, Harry Taylor, Josh Gibson and Dane Rampe were all state league defenders at one point.
All AA’s.
Imagine how excited & hungry he would be right now too. Probably thought his AFL dream was over & now he’s learning from friggen Clarko. When you've got no KPD depth and Ones headed out the door, picking a couple up with some obvious talent to bolster the stocks is far from a bad idea.
Welcome back to North Toby.
The brions Gardiner is the immediate afl comparison I have thought of when reading other people’s impressions and watching his highlights.Hopefully he works out better than the last mature ager we recruited from Glenelg (Hosie).
I touched based with a mate over in SA and he said he is more of a dour stopper rather than an offensive interceptor. Very physical and has good closing speed and while he doesn’t have amazing skill he has good decision making and is a neat/long kick.
Despite not much fanfare both he and Oscar Clavarino (ex St.Kilda key defender) did get some interest in the mid season draft.
His numbers don’t blow you off the page, but he rarely got beaten all year. Was named at full back in the SANFL team of the year.
Averaged 11 disposals and 5 marks per game this year. He also lead the league in contested marks with 37 across 20 games.
I haven’t watched him this year, but as a depth option this looks to be a solid/decent choice.
Still hope we have a look at Ethan Phillips.
Whos that good key back from werribee?Yeah I hope we sign Pink and Phillips. Two of the best state level KPDs in the country. Hope and pray that one of them becomes a player in Clarksons system.
Well thankfully our new head of development will have as good an idea as any of who the best VFL KPD isWhos that good key back from werribee?
Surely there's a few from the VFL who are looking for a shot at AFL level?
Saviour of North Melbourne's backline (hopefully). We will drink to toby pink
I don’t get it. Care to explain
Wait, so he's already been affiliated with us before, I assume we cut him, and now we're bringing him back again but onto our senior list?VFL: List update
North Melbourne’s VFL side will be bolstered in 2020, with the additions of former Sydney Swan Toby Pink, and exciting small-forward Adam Tipungwuti.www.nmfc.com.au
He was listed on our VFL list but never played as covid destroyed the footy season.Wait, so he's already been affiliated with us before, I assume we cut him, and now we're bringing him back again but onto our senior list?
I'd prefer we picked up (or didn't lose) the best KPDs at AFL level.Picking up the best KPDs at state level is exactly what we should be doing.
