Reading. Comprehension. Tiny mind. Apologist. ✅✅✅✅. I’ll leave the insults to the side for now assuming it just stems from insecurity and having NFI.

We have different views of adequate replacements.

We also have different views about McKay himself. As I’ve posted previously, my understanding is that Clarkson doesn’t want him for multiple reasons, a key reason being is that Ben doesn’t want to be there. The reports about not having a contract in front of him is also different to what I have heard. As previously stated, we did try to put one in front of him at one stage but he refused to engage.

If you think our list issues are as simple as Rawlings and Clayton then no amount of stern looking can help you.
You can see them as being insults. I see them as stating fact. In regards to the contract stuff you're wrong. No contract was ever presented to McKay. Believe me. Don't believe me. The truth is the truth. Finally did I use the words as "Our list issues are as simple as Rawlings and Clayton"? Presumptuous Indeed. :stern look

Remember. I am up here and you're down there. :stern look

I disagree.

You enjoy being up here pi*ing and moaning, without offering anything other then hindsight sooking. I’m more then content down there having a more positive view of what they’re doing.

"You might think all this negativity is just down to list management" Once again what makes you think that? Did I say that? "All". "Just down". :stern look

This is a part of my original post. "I dare say the negativity in this thread wouldn’t be as pronounced as it currently is." Surely you're bright enough to comprehend the above? Surely? :stern look
Fair enough.

I think it would tho. There's alot of moaning on these pages and there was even in that brief period when we were winning more games than we lost.

With every post you continue to highlight your presumptuous nature and lack of intelligence. You are incorrect to presume that my concerns are based on hindsight. Those who know me know that I have had various concerns relating to our football club, one of which being our list imbalance, for a very long time. Because I don't go sharing my every waking thought on the club in this forum doesn't mean that "All of a sudden" I am concerned by the very real possibility that no adequate replacement for McKay is coming into the door. At least we can agree that I'm up here and you're down there. :stern look

Negativity has always been a part of BigFooty. Agreed. And sure it certainly does irritate some posters that others like to point out the failings of the football club but very rarely celebrate it's successes. But let me remind you we have finished bottom 2 over the last 4 seasons. There isn't much to celebrate. :stern look

pity they double booked the venue with the "glad we paid pick 19 for ccj appreciation society",

the real losers would really be the caterers.

I'm 100% with you there.

I think you are both misreading the the situation. Brady said there was a contract there if he wanted it. Not a formal offer, but tell us what you need to stay and we can talk. He rightly enough went to explore the free agency options to see what was out there. The Club said see what you can get, and if the result for us is a very low first round pick we aren't going to try too hard to keep you. I think both sides were happy to go their separate ways, while not sabotaging the other (Ben's money and our pick) . I think it was well played by Club and agent.

FWIW I don' think Clarko/Viney thought he was as important to our success as he thought he was.

Rawlings surfaced Toby Pink's name as one who is on North Melbourne's radar following his strong 2023 season with SANFL premiers Glenelg.

Pink, who spent three years with Sydney across 2017-2019 and didn't make an appearance at AFL level, was named at full-back in the SANFL Team of the Year following his strong campaign with the Tigers.

The Kangaroos had Pink on their books ahead of the 2020 VFL season before the COVID pandemic hit, with the 25-year-old soon deciding to head back to South Australia.

"Toby is one of those players we've been looking at," Rawlings said.

"He's been in the SANFL for three years now after his opportunity with Sydney, we actually signed him up as a VFL player before COVID hit, and then he went back to Glenelg.

"We've kept a close eye on him. We think his second half of this year in the SANFL has been outstanding. We think he's a premier defender in the SANFL and now a premiership player at SANFL level.

"He's someone we're pretty keen to bring in and we think he deserves the opportunity."

The Kangaroos could consider the key defender as a rookie selection either via November's draft period or as a Supplemental Selection Period acquisition over the pre-season.

Delisted free agency will open on November 1, with a number of recently departed AFL names potentially in the Roos' sights as well.

In all reality, if he is capable of locking down on more physical opponents and can match it with the Dixon’s & Hawkins of the worlds then he will be best 22.
as long as we are never as exposed again like the day we had bonar trying to keep a gorilla in check.

prolly the most comprehensively i have seen a 1 on 1 backman beaten since Dan Nielson got a bath from *

I know i am stating the obvious and it's a long shot but if this kid can hold down full back and keep the monster forwards at bay then we've got a big piece of the jigsaw filled. Corr and Dawson can play in the other key back roles until Logue comes back and our tall recruits develop. I think Charlie can play CHB but i think we need him up forward helping Larkey.

If we're also getting biggy then I'd say we only need to take 1 tall defender in the draft to develop. We can then focus attention on getting another key forward unless we take someone who can play both ends
