Player Watch #32: Toby Pink - has been delisted, with the commitment to re-select him in the Rookie Draft

Hope this means the club is honouring the contract he earned via the trigger last year, and isn't giving him a pay cut as part of this move.

Toby did everything that was asked of him by the club, without much consistency as he was swung forward and back and forward again, as well as being thrown into the ruck. People forget that he played his first AFL games ever last year. Tough situation and he handled it superbly IMHO.

Yes, I'm an unashamed fan of his, and want him to succeed. Glad he's sticking around.

I know this is partly trolling Nostra but give me a spell.

No real disadvantage to being on the rookie list these days. No restrictions on selection or wage, unlike the old days.

Remember Cam Pedersen working at Bunning's because he wasn't making enough to live on. Then the year after we couldn't pick Sam Gibson until mid-year, despite him tearing it up in the 2's.

Not really a true rookie list now anyway, it just gives clubs flexibility in their list management and to take punts on speculative types.

Whilst this is true, right now Pink is a DFA.

They're not taking that kind of risk with a player they're concerned about losing, as harsh as that is

Heart and soul of the club!

Has there ever been a statue erected of a player selected from the rookie list before?..

Make it happen Euge.
Should build the Panther a Palace for his team first approach

Personally I’d of delisted Stephens or fisher and hope someone nabbed them before our pick

Side note; something I've always been curious about but never bothered to actually look into it;

Is Pink currently allowed to train with the team/use our facilities/work with our medical staff etc?

Or technically not until after we re-draft him?

why wouldnt he, heaps of players have trained and used the facilities without being "listed" before.
