l can accept you calling him a tosser based on nothing but he is not arrogant in the slightest.
I think the last part of your post sums up why people don't like him or players like him. People don't like seeing those igniting players perform, it gets the crowd going it gets the team going & you sit there and think "aggggh heck we didn't need that.....the little prick" but understand that is his value.
Plenty of players tear up the Bulldogs that I don't have a problem with. Priddis, Naitanui, Dangerfield, Daniel Merrett, Kieren Jack, even Jack Watts seems to have the wood over us.
Harvey's ability has nothing to do with the reason I dislike him.
When he succeeds, he's running around with his tongue out of his mouth and hands raised to the heavens like he's the chosen one. When he doesn't succeed, he's whinging to the umpires, or storming around like a spoilt brat.
The turning point for me was Round 2, 2009. Harvey was towelled up by first-game tagger Liam Picken. After the game Picken extended his hand to Harvey, and Harvey turned his back and walked off. I already didn't like his petulance but that was when I started to really dislike him.

How many times in Harveys career has he set the tone against the best teams, take the game by the scruff of the kneck and pull his team over the line? I can't think of many.

Selwood, Judd, Hodge and others have done it consistently over the years while Harvey disappears when the heat is on. He still can't break a tag either.

an absolute champion who is underrated by others who dont see how consistant he is. for me, stands along side players like wanganeen. ill say hes got around 2-3 years left in him, just in time to sneak in another premiership

Don't often say stuff like this, but I reckon your chances of picking up a premiership are pretty slim if Brad Scott is still coaching you then.

The guy had twenty goal assists in 16 games and was ranked in the top fifteenth in the AFL for last year, how in the hell is he selfish. This thread has descended into a crapfest on north again.

Is 20 goal assists in 16 games a good number? I genuinely don't know.

Does he play as a half forward or a mid these days? Sounds more impressive as a half forward.

Probably BOG today.

That would silence a few for a week.

3 goals
5 score assists
12 score involvements
team only had 23 scoring shots.

That's why you need to tag him, even at his age.
Call him what you want but he is a great footballer.

You give Boomer the ball where Ballantyne got the ball in the Grand Final & I'd suggest you would have been celebrating long & hard in early October last year. That is the difference between good & great making good decisions.

Now swing away on the North won't make grand finals yada yaa.........but try & recall the last time the guy missed a target or goal that mattered.

longevity is just another star on his lapel. 5 years after he retires he will be a Hall of Famer.
He missed one today but made amends a minute or two later.

Clearly the best player on the field today and in my opinion still Norths best player overall. When the ball is in his hands he is as dangerous as anyone in the league. Probably still got at least one more year in his after this year barring injury, rare for his age in that he still has pace

The consummate professional footballer.

08 final against hawks, EJ Whitten game, many times against pies, dogs and the like whilst they were top 4. Super coach scores are unfortunately the modern eras way of rating guys games. If u watch most games you see the impact guys have without looking purely at stats (although harveys are very good)
I have this same gripe with Stevie J, guys discount him for his cockiness and flair but in actual fact he woud be in the top 10 mids in the comp over the last couple of years

We are talking about Harvey here not Fletcher.

Fletcher's a two time premiership player, winning a B&F in one of those years. Give credit where credit is due.
