I looked at Footywire the other day and they had Schache locked in until 2024? Don't know if right
No official club info, but did find this:

Josh Schache. Age: 25 | Games: 72 | Status: Contracted to 2023

Schache joins the Demons after five seasons and 45 games with the Bulldogs. Landing at his third AFL club, Schache played just 18 games in the past three seasons at the Whitten Oval, including seven this year. He will provide forward cover and more key-position depth for the Demons following the departure of Sam Weideman.

AFL list analysis: Every Demon dissected, plus their contract status beyond 2022

*Edit - just saw another article in the Herald Sun said end of '24, so who knows... Seems more likely to be that though.

I do wonder who we will lose at the end of the year, won’t be surprised if they let Jordon walk to ensure we keep Chandler. I wouldn’t mind trading Sparrow at all but the club absolutely loves him.
I'm not sure we'd have to lose anyone. Only big money recruit we've bought in lately is Grundy and Jacksons money paid for that and some. Plus surely Melk retires.

I still think Ben Brown is likely to retire as well. I don't see him as the type of guy who would sit on a list for another year if he sees out this year in the VFL. He may even be up for a development job with Tasmania and next year would be a good time to get in on the ground floor there.

Signing Chandler is absolutely essential, if it means losing Sparrow or Jordon then so be it. But I think it's likely that we will have spots opening up from Melk, Brown, Hibberd, maybe Tmac and Dunstan too. Which would be ideal to refresh our age profile and give some younger depth a chance to make it.

Oh I'd fly back to Australia and drop Sparrow off me self if it meant we kept Chandler

I hope so, just a bit concerned about all the long term contracts we have.
Itd be diabolically bad list management to have no salary cap room with the list we have. Richmond bought in Lynch, Cats bought in Cameron. We bloody lost Jackson. If we can't afford to keep what we have then we have way over paid Oliver and Trac

We absolutely should be totally fine on salary cap for the next two years. The crunch will come if Jefferson gets good and we have to re-contract him and JVR in consecutive years. If they both become top key forwards that will be expensive.

Tbf I’m not concerned about the Oliver and Petracca deals, it’s the Brayshaw/Salem contracts.

Meh Brayshaw and Salem got 600 instead of 400 isn't the world ender. It's if we gave 1 mil plus to Oliver and Trac when other teams guns have taken 700 or so to keep the list together

Which players at the level of those two do you think are on 700k a year?
Pretty sure I heard a thing that Selwood and Hawkins never made over 800 at Geelong. Oliver and Trac don't have to get 700 maybe that's a bit low but call it 900 vs 1.3 or whatever that would be the difference between us keeping and losing depth

Jefferson is long away from being AFL good imo, our plus 30s will be gone by then.

If he's not showing signs of being good by end of next year he probably won't be. And you don't have to show much as a young key forward to suddenly be worth pretty good dollars when your contract is up.

I haven't watched as much Casey as other but would have though he's going about as well so far as you could realistically have hoped a young tall of his physical development to go?

By good I mean good enough to warrant a big enough salary to push the cap. At the end of his second year he would be still be on low coin. Can't imagine him demanding anything decent until after his 5th.
