The move from Perth to Melbourne can be quite a daunting one for a young draftee, but for North Melbourne recruit Kyron Hayden, it’s about to become a whole lot easier.
Hayden, who was selected with pick 62 in last Friday’s NAB AFL Draft, will be joined by Western Australian teammate and schoolmate Gordon Narrier.
Narrier was recruited by North with its final pick in Monday’s Rookie Draft.
“Yeah I’m tight with Gordon, we both went to Hale, (I) played footy with him for a couple of years, so I know Gordon pretty well,” Hayden told NMFC.com.au.
Still finding his feet in Melbourne after arriving on Sunday afternoon, Hayden is looking forward to welcoming his good mate to the club.
“It will make it a bit easier having a familiar face around, and make it a bit more comforting too,” Hayden said.
Narrier, who will arrive at Arden Street in the coming days, has already caught the eye of North fans because of his lightning pace and reliable left foot.
Hayden too is excited to see what the rookie can bring to the club.
“He’s a really silky player, a great bloke and I’m excited to have him here,” he added
