Issues before he was drafted and then since coming to us he does his Achilles in his first game, a lingering knee issue halfway through last season, then does a hamstring right on the eve of this season after absolutely nutting the pre-season.

He literally has a curse placed on him. He doesn't need a physio so much as he needs a priest to perform a ritual.

well said - hope the boy comes good, but this is the perennial challenge facing young players: will the body hold up and become battle hardened? So many don't make it because they fall on the wrong side of that question

Yep, unfortunately it's just part and parcel of our game. I'm sure many on this forum have been there before.

But Kyron will not leave any stone unturned in his rehab. If he eventually falls on the wrong side of that question in a more definite way, he can be sure it wasn't because of lack of effort.

In fairness, he didn't have leg issues as a junior. I know from his mates his knee was a knee on knee knock that require a fluid drain off but not structural damage and he was put on ice at the end of the season so they could see others play. If 2 weeks is fact can't be to bad, but. We know what 2 weeks CAN mean👎

To state the bleeding obvious, the kid can't take a trick, he is certainly resilient and made of the right stuff with how he keeps coming back from these setbacks, hopefully 🤞 this is a relatively minor one.

Thoughts on his game today? Some howlers, some good stuff.
Gives up front position too easily at times.

I think you can see why the club has only ever given him one year deals. He's a battler but he's limited. Would have liked to see him tagging tbh.

Think he has what it takes, did some neat field kicking which has been his knock in previous games.

I don't think defender is his natural position, but he cleans up alright. By no means a bad game today.

This sentence pretty much sums up his career to date, let alone just today. I still really like him as a player and there's a lot to work with imo, but he does need to get those howlers out of his game. Has played so little footy over the last 5 years though that some of them are understandable.

I thinks he's a mid. Should have been given the role Kayne took on Laird.

Agreed, credit to the coach for throwing some guys around and I know McDonald went down early but Kyron, McDonald or Bonar would be the ones you could see negating and doing some damage the other way in future.

I really like him but their first 3 goals where on him - two from his turnovers and one from a mark from his direct opponent. Needs to cut the goal leaking and stupid errors out of his game to make it.
That first goal was down to either a bad decision on his part of really poor communication from his teammates. Someone should have been telling him he was hot.
