I have very very cold feet on this one.

Don't really rate whitnall much anymore. Have a pretty crowded forward line as is.Would prefer just plain old draft picks for harding.

SEN reported that St.Kilda are trying to do a deal for Whitnall. Why they'd need him I don't know...but I hope that this one goes through. It would take up a chunk of salary at St.Kilda whilst adding a part that they don't need...and keep his name off this board.

That means it can't possibly be true. He would be laughing all day and in no state to deny such a rumour if it was true. Lekkas would have been a great get 4-5 years ago, but there is no point getting him now.

If true.

We get a player that will almost certainly be in our best 22 next year, who is hard at the ball, and accountable (things many on this board say we lack). We lose a player that probably wouldnt have been in our best 22 next year, who isnt particularly hard at the ball, and who isnt particularly accountable, and who many on here thought was worth a round 3 draft pick at most.

I would be happy for Harding to stay, but if he isnt needed at the club, then Lekkas is not a horrible pickup IMO.

The chances of a 35+ draft pick being worthwhile are very slim.

I admire your positivity, but can the club do anything wrong in your mind? Over two years and I have seen nothing but defense of every move, every crtisicism, everything.

I look forward to seeing the spin if this trade is not true.

By the way, will not be happy if it is true. We don't need Lekkas, and Harding - however soft and inconsistent - has got the talent to be very good. I want to give him more time

Yep.

It's getting a bit disturbing now Moomba.

How much time does someone need? It's not as though Harding is a ruckman who needs to 'grow' into his body etc.

He's 23 going on 24 FFS. Give him enough time and we'll have him on the frigging veteran's list before he can string together 3 decent games.

I like to watch Harding when he's hot - which is typically once or twice a year. Thought he was very lucky not to be axed last season.

Not saying get Lekkas. Thought Clayton or one of the Harvey's could play the crumbing roles better than Harding can.

It's fairly obvious then you only read what you want to read. In the past two years I have criticised many aspects of the club, from the administrative sides relating to Sydney, Canberra and Casey, to the marketing side, to the financial side, to the recruiting side (eg wasnt keen on McKernan last year, wouldnt be keen on Picioane this year), to the playing side (on several occasions). FWIW this deal has been denied so how can I be defending the club over something they haven't actually done.

I am not anti-Harding, and I too would be happy for him to remain at the club, but faced with a choice of a 46 or 47th draft pick and Lekkas I will take Lekkas every time. It's not spin, it's just my opinion, if that doesn't match up with your then too bad.

Reported in today's Age, the Hawks want a second round draft pick for Lekkas. Apparantly we're going to trade Harding to get that second round pick.....so anyway, I'm off to e-mail Dean Laidley and the recruiting team. You see, I've got $US20,000,000 in Nigeria, and I need someone's bank account details to get the money out....the boys will get their 20% cut of course.....oh, and I'll need about $20,000 from them to get the wheels rolling on the deal......I'm sure they'll help me out on this one......
