God it was funny on sunday when I think it was Wells (maybe Harvs actually) was lining up for goals from the pocket but instead passed to Harding 30 metres out on a 45deg angle. The whole crowd moaned....he he......thats saying something about the confidence the supporters have in his kicking when they'd all rather Wellsy/Harvs from the impossible angle. He missed the lot too by the way.

Was that the same shot that landed just in front of the point post and one of our players took the mark? They then passed it to another player who had a better angle and we got a goal from it?

We called that one a "set play". ;)

Harding has been a major shame, how hard is it to to practise kicking straight. whould he not have 1 -2 hours a day to imporove hes kicking? Would Tiger woods be any where if he did not spend so many hours perfecting hes game?

Its time Afl players start taking profesionalism seriously

Especially ones who play in the forward line and cant kick straight
I.e; Leigh Harding

....pin-point pass by Harding .....obviously ;)

Don't think it's only Harding....the WB are having bigger problems
also but what you mention about 'professionalism' >> aka skills
then consider how many players have the ability to play on both sides of thier body ???? IMO around close to the 30% mark can.

That's dissappointing considering all the time they spend training and getting 'overpaid to be one dimensional'

That was sensational, as soon as he got it I started moaning myself and to my astonishment everyone around me did the same! Hilarious!!

Thats true woodson. They get paided a fortune they have get so much free time. Do they ever take time to better there skills in there own time. I bet 98% of afl footballers think it is enough to rock up to training 3 times a week 4 an hour.

I bet they spend more time working out in the gym and sitting in the salon getting there hair done.

Good point Woodson how many young kids get the 'will play AFL' tag only to have someone say 'but he can't kick both feet', but a coach of mine a few years ago stressed it wasn't important to kick equally as well on the nonpreferred side, all you needed was to be able to get out of trouble with your left foot, somehow that doesn't equate to AFL.
Did anyone watch the Aints play Collywood on Friday night and see Riewoldt turn on his nonpreferred side (left) and slot through a goal from about 30 out dare I say it reminded me a little bit of W Carey.

That explains the Hawks' season in a nutshell. Schwabb must be feeling quite humiliated with that 'outrageous pre-seaon quote'

As for North... IMO it's the maturity of mind and body that will get us to the line in the coming seasons. With the average age of league footballers dropping under 25 you'd expect some mix between 'one dimensional lifestyle that needs to chill out and have fun' and 'exhausting punishment on the young bodies'

But I feel you're not far off the mark, meetinunzion.

I was brought up with the basic football fundimentals and not only do you need to improve your skills on the non-preffered side but also do the 1% for yourself and your team mates.
We (junior club years) once had a full training session to learn to sheppard your team mate properly and thoroughly and sadly that 1% play has almost diminished from the game today.

Heck, it's a high pressure cooker game more than ever and you'd expect more help (1% play) from your team mates these days but that ain't happening thus you see 'dumb scrappy games'

I love the balance of Reivoldt has. He just needs to push his weight around if StK are ever going to WIN a flag.

Kangas Club Corner yesturday at Drew Petrie's house who lives with Chad Jones; the number of hair product containers in the bathroom explains it all, haha.

Homer Harding?

Perhaps the North crowd should respond ala Ang Christou style but instead of OOOOOF when he gets a kick, respond with a collective

DOH!

Every time he lairises or misses a set shot!
:D

Hmmm, I would of thought that suits Simmo perfectly as he has the best looking kick in the league ;)

Like the train of thought though

Harding does the hardest thing in footy and that is win the ball. He's too soft to play up the ground, so he should be taking hundreds of set shots at goal from varying angles every week. Someone should be looking at his kicking action and routine if it's not already being done.

Then one of two things should happen. We have a gun forward who can kick 50 plus goals per year or he is the biggest tease in the AFL and should be traded whilst he still has some value. I think he has too much talent and hope that he can turn it around...but he's currently on a fast track to take over from David Calthorpe as the Roo supporter's bunny.

sheesh, putting Harding into the bunny Calthorpe catergory is way out of line. IMO But I agree he such a tease with his game. North actually are a tease in themselves. ;) If there is such thing as North's bunny...then I vote for CoreyMcK... just can't say how dissappointed I am with his game.

Harding should not be dropped.

I get as frustrated as anyone, but he is a real assest.
Taking many potshots at the goal, is better than taking none.

Bottom line, we look better with him in the team, and the kicking accuracy will improve..

Remember early 2002. He nailed some crucial ones. I think he may be a pressure performer.

Fact is, any bloke that can kick 1.7 a couple of times should be in the side simply for the fact he kicked 1.7. It can easily become 4.3

great point kelman. I don't mind when he has a shot...it's losing those close ones that everyone seems to 'point the finger' but like I said in another post...interesting if he survives the cut this week as he improved after half time playing on the wing. We're a definate better potent team with Harding in the team although his kicking isn't proving the case atm. On the flipside, Harding's record vs the Dees is one to tempt JYD to give him another shot up forward.

All of you that are just bagging Harding should all consider taking up journalism because you only see the bleeding obvious.

Yes, he is not in the best form of his career and struggled up forward in the first half but his second half was alot better and you dont recognise that or want to give him any credit for fighting out the game. He set up three goals off his own boot from the wing and was a link in a fourth, he also was putting his body on the line when he was running into defense from the wing.

Its one thing to not have things go your way, but its another to just give in without a whelp. Most of our players have put in shockers over the last month and when they did most did not give a whelp. Harding has at least fought out the match and contributed.

This forum is fast degenerating into a pack of Richmond-like player backstabbers who do nothing other than bitch about the negatives and never talk about the positives of any of our players.

I am sick of it and am considering just leaving the BF forum. Very disappointed in the negativity and the amount of sheer stupidity in the coach-potato expert commentry. I have nothing more to contribute. There is no discussion, just stupid player bashing.

I'm talking about North supporter's attitude towards Turtle. Not just on BF, but at the game the reaction to him getting the ball, going on and off the ground etc is very strong. Just an observation. I hope he turns it around as an in form Turtle is a huge plus for our forward line.
