If you were producing a cricket “Form Guide” you are seriously considering the value of form out of this years IPL - the grounds are small and the tracks were roads - “query form from this tournament”

While I don’t disagree with the general gist of your point, you realise the boundary sizes at most of the main Indian grounds are more or less the same as the Australian ones right? The MCG is a bit bigger, and the straight boundaries at Adelaide, but that’s about it, with a few variances across the grounds here and there.

The dimensions of Eden Gardens for example are bigger than the Gabba; roughly the same square, and about 10 metres longer down the ground. Wankhede is roughly the same as the SCG.

I don’t know why it’s assumed that every ground not in Australia is smaller than our grounds.

Ever thought that the reason he put his hand up to open was BECAUSE there were no in form openers to play?

I doubt there's a #4 in history who'd open if they didn't have to.

The fact that there wasn't anyone good enough, combined by CA not being confident in any of the other options, is very far from Steve Smith's fault.
setting a 34~ year old up to start opening at age 34 is mismanagement to the highest degree, but i thought (could be misremembering) that bancroft had recovered his reasonable form of when he was first selected.

Yeah, bunt it over the 50m boundaries for 6 on a concrete deck. That's 20/20 for you. It's a travesty of a game.
Throw in non-stop Seppo gee-ups and it's pretty much everything that I detest. It's a shit form of the game.

You started with Smith has damaged the Test side.
Now you're saying it was, by implication, mismanagement by CA.

Give it up mate.

That's 2 grounds. Many of them are VERY small. This ground ( Perth ) isn't huge either
