North Melbourne will quickly move onto plans B and C after Dustin Martin advised the club he would be staying at Punt Rd, according to GM Football Cameron Joyce.

"We went right down to the wire on this one," he told The Herald Sun.

"We are talking about a potential Brownlow medallist, a multiple All-Australian, best-and-fairest winner and a superstar of the competition who was seriously considering coming to North Melbourne.

"That is the huge positive in this - he saw something in our club versus others that drew him to come to a decision very, very late in the year which has ultimately seen him stay at Richmond.

Live TV isn't for everyone. He's probably less nervous than I would be. I'd be shittin' bricks.

His dad was in a documentary about bikie clubs etc and how the govt was trying to deport them all etc , I seen it on the national geographic channel while back and he spoke very well , he was just nervous then I rekon.

this time last week he was gone...according to carr

Calling BS on that. Selling the drama imo.
Though it was 400k difference....
Funnily that came from Carr.
Straight after that we have Dimma saying he was always confident and said it very deliberately and made a point of saying how well he knows Dusty.
I think a lot of this was Carr.
Just a hunch.

has someone recorded this i need to see

Eddie said they will have it up on their regular show sites, and that there is a full interview that will be available (about 30 mins long)
Also said Tony Jones will have an interview with Dusty on Nine News tomorrow from 6pm

Carr said this time last week he was going to norf. Surely that's rubbish after what T71 said.

I thought he said all the talk was #lolnorf but when they sat down and discussed it in NZ he wasn't leaving

I wouldn't be surprised if Dusty was close to leaving, with the money on offer. Cannot blame him for seriously considering it at all.

But he waited and realised that he wanted to be at Richmond, and good on him for that.

Good job to Ralph Carr too, he might be tough to deal with but he clearly had Dusty's best interests at heart.

Here's hoping Shane Martin can get back to Australia.

Carn Dusty! Carn the Tiges! :)

Yeah it is imo. Carr was pushing the norf barrow no doubt about it but thank god for shane and dusty :)
caro reckons shane told him to accept the norf offer
