The fact that he has spoken to other high profile players before making this decision, his placement of loyalty above all else including that alleged two million dollar potential earning and his calm nature over it shows that he is a well balanced mature 26 year old. Bravo to him and I am most looking forward to watching him play for another 7 years.

We got superb value for money.
And one other thing ... the loyalty.

So Dusty has had a Brownlow standard season while carrying this mountain of pressure on his shoulders all year. Now that's disappeared I can only begin to imagine what he's capable of.

Going forward he's poised to grab the league firmly by the balls. May very well rip them clean off.

inb4 gets a 3rd fine and suspended next week after duckwood ducks into his elbow

We don't lose too many we wanna keep , there's something about Richmond

Lids is honestly the only one I can think of in the last 10 years (maybe Matty white if you rated him?) definitely a greater pride about pulling on the jumper than other clubs seem to have

Good interview for a shy bloke. Loved him slipping into Dusty mode a few times there despite Eddie doing all he could to drag it down toward the gutter. I'm not sure he is fully matured yet - still think he'll get better on and off the field. He is one loyal caboose, and the best third best draft pick we ever took. Melbourne must weep quietly at night.

Actually maybe this one is more fitting

Round 11: North Melbourne vs Richmond @ Etihad, 03/06/2017
Win 101-66
Q1 Q2 Q3 Q4

D. Martin - 38 disposals, 9 clearances, 9 inside 50's, 6 tackles, 2 goals

In terms of onfield, there are statistical analysis completed by RMIT ages ago which state that most players peak in 27 and 28 years of age in the AFL system. We've got an exciting two years ahead of us.
