Ho got severely sick. 'suffered a bout of urticaria' - whatever that is

I've posted a few times on this, people do your own research and no doubt Scotty is doing his best to get back ASAP. I am sure the media have left him alone accordingly.

The medication is harsh and has side-affects.

His absence is probably the only reason Spud hasn't been dropped yet. Omitting him, Rawlings, Pratt and McMahon from our settled backline of a few years ago is losing too much experience.

I do wish they would trial JMac deeper in defence though. Probably in the VFL at first.

As i have siad on other treads Scotty brings more to the team than just his football ability, he is the bum tapper, encourager, 1% er that we need in the team :thumbsu: I don't disgaree with others saying he needs a bit more time in the 2's but the sooner we can bring him back to the 1's I think the sooner our performance will improve.

I agree but we need more than Mcmahon. Something isn't quite right at our club. We will probably never know what it is but I just hope the people in charge identify it and do something about it in a hurry before it gets too out of hand.... If it isn't already

Mate don't be so dramatic.

We've got a decent young list going through a form slump, we'll be fine.

Clearly unfit, and its a tough illness he has battled, but did a brilliant job tonight I thought. Combined with a select few, I doubt we would have got the 4 points.

Welcome back Scott, made a big difference in your effort and experience tonight :thumbsu:

Without his coolness ander pressure tonight, we'd have lost for sure.
He reminds me of Colbert and Archer as that cool head out of defence who can take a mark.
I always thought Scotty had to be more attacking as a player.
I was blind, he always was.
Whats changed is that he take those marks and is so composed. Thats what will make him a great player for us.
Tonights game was similar to the Port game. Difference is a bloke like McMahon can add that extra experience we are lacking.

Looks weird without the beard too. Almost looks more serious. Hes know for being a goose- im wondering whether his injury layoff has had an effect on him mentally too.

Regardless great to have him back.

I am almost certain he saved 3 goals all on his lonesome tonight. I am also certain we would have beat Port with him in the team... Maybe even the dogs.

It is scary that I had him as our 3rd best player tonight & there was no way he was 100% fit.

Gotta agree, he is such an important player. Allowed Atley the freedom to run off and carry the ball forward with more freedom than he has the past few weeks.

Same thought crossed my mind also - sure he is more experienced, but on tonights performance it is scary for sure.

Deserves full credit in his own right regardless.

He was a welcome addition. As others have said, not fit.
Looks like his body is retaining water or something though, medicatiin side effects?

Corticosteroids, which he had, are known for that side effect. He'll be more physically svelte looking in a few weeks.

In all seriousness, one of the most unfathomable things I have ever seen.
Grown man can't handle the most mild of contact and runs ahead like chook with head cut off seeking retribution.
How that contact from McMahon could possibly be a free I will never, ever know.
PS - Looking forward to the Grumpy Freckle being rubbed out for his snipe on Sammy. And loved Sammy reminding him of how many flags his team hasn't won.
